The look of consternation on the CHief Engineer’s face was obvious “Yes.” She said “Impulse Engine 3 is overheating again.” She said as she began a scan of the engine to determine what the problem was “I’m shutting down Engine 3 for the moment. Until I can get a diagnostic on it.” She said as she opened a comm link to main engineering “O’Brien, take a team to impulse 3. It’s overheating. I’m running diagnostics now.=^=

As she issued the orders, the readouts on Impulse engine #2 indicated that it too was overheating. Initial diagnostics indicated that coolant wasn’t getting to the reactor. As the readouts came in, the temperature of Number 4 engine also started to climb.

Johann got up from his chair to actually look at the Engineering readouts directly. He didn’t like the looks of this. Letting Sullivan work, he pressed his comm badge.

=/\= Security, send additional detachments to Decks 6, 7, 8 and look out for any unusual behavior. =/\=

“Helm, stabilize our orbit with Thrusters only,” he said.

Mattie growled “I’m going down there myself.” She said as she turned over thes tation to a younger engineer “Start shutting down Engine 4.” She said “Start a diagnostic on the coolant lines.” She looked at Johann “If it’s like the last time, we have to walk the entire line and find the block or we have to blow the lines. There is nothing that should be blocking the line since we just made the repairs less than five hours ago.” She said as she headed off the bridge.

=^=Sullivan to Bridge. Start scanning the nacelles for strange signals. NE Buell is transmitting them now.=^= The CE’s voice was clearly frustrated. =^=Please advise if you find additional similar signals.=^=

“Do it,” the Captain ordered whoever was currently at the science station.

OOC: I assume it’s an NE, but honestly between the two threads that involve landing shuttles I can’t tell who the science officer on the Bridge in the main sim is at the moment.

There were no strange signals coming from the nacelles. Everything was working as intended.

=^=Bridge, we have a device on the coolant line. It has taken out my damage control team. Please get me something on the signals. I have ordered medical teams to impulse engine 2.=^= SHe said as she was running toward her team to help them.

“Intruder alert,” the Captain ordered. “Direct additional security teams to impulse engine 2.” He then pushed the button for the intercom.

=^=Security responding=^= the NE at tactical stated. The intruder alarm sounded throughout the ship.

OOC: What, if anything, do we have to work with on the bridge from her tricorder and/or deep space?

OCC: What ever is normally carried on a star ship. I am open to all ideas within reason. Friendly hint, if you think back to your briefing, maybe you can figure out what the saboteur is going to.do next.

OOC: Let me rephrase the question. Earlier in the thread, Tyra’s character did scans of the device, and asked us in the Bridge to do scans of the nacelles and asked to to look into the “strange signals.” What was the outcome of those scans / that analysis?

OCC: Oh my bad.

IC: “Sir,” The NE at science said. “I am not picking up anything strange coming from the ship, however, there are some low level in the system.” She said looking at the instruments.

=^=Captain, this thing is phasing in and out. =^= She used the tricorder to send a video of what the device looked like and what it was doing a silver box that was attached to the coolant line and was phasing in and out. She spoke almost too calmly =^=I need to get someone down here with a couple of field enhancers.=^= She said as she moved closer to the device to try and get a better reading off of it without touching it.

=^=Captain, this device is giving off nuclear readings and if you step closer to it, it starts sending out sparks.=^= She said =^=Even getting closer I am not getting any clearer readings. Can you attempt to lock onto the device and transport it away from this area?=^=
