With the CMO being off the ship on the shuttle mission, Kayla had the run of sickbay all to herself. She usually worked the night shift. But Zeke had been camped out here for the last few days treating Crewman Taylor’s mysterious alien flu virus.

Now the Sickbay was empty. No patients. No other staff. As she sat in the adjacent CMO’s office, sipping on her large mug of coffee, she worked on some reports.

There were other medical staff if she needed them. They were in call.
