Betazed. Sienna sighed internally. She had not been back since she had visited the other Siennadye Nox’s parents. They had been kind enough but they also did not view her as their daughter, giving rise to complications for Sienna now. Also when she had last been there, she had visited the place where she and Johann had gotten married. It was a place of sorrow for her but she didn’t want the Captain to know it. This wasn’t his fault or his problem. It was hers.

The Captain had no idea that Sienna was thinking these things, and the thoughts would never have occurred to him. At least not without prompting. But even prompted at this moment, he probably wouldn’t have thought of it because he was thinking of other things.

“Abrams,” he said, turning to face the officer at the security station. “Let’s talk a minute in the Ready Room.”

“Yes, Captain,” Cassidy replied, intrigued by the summons.”

He walked over to it without turning around. “Nox, you have the conn.” Apparently he forgot that this Nox wasn’t actually qualified to do that…

Handing over the security console, Abrams moved across the bridge and followed Dvorak into his ready room. She didn’t say anything but gave him a questioning look, knowing full well he’d explain why he wanted to see her.

Sienna had been lost in her thoughts a bit and only vaguely aware that he had called Abrams to his ready room. IT was when she heard her name that she looked up and returned her full attention to him. For a second, it did not register what he meant. As it dawned on her, that he didn’t remember she was not qualified to take the conn, she stood and shouted out to him, “But Captain! While I appreciate the vote of confidence, I am not qualified to be put in charge of the Bridge. I lack the requisite training.”

This was incredibly hard for her to say. It was embarrassing that she was having to say it and everyone on the Bridge would be present for that humiliation and would likely spread it around the ship later. The other Siennadye Nox had been his XO and it must have been by rote that he had assigned her the conn. It only made it worse for her though. It meant that for at least that moment, he had forgotten who she was and for this Siennadye, that was an awful feeling.
