“Great,” the Captain said.
“I vote for before,” Vora said, even though it meant being in an EVA suit for longer and of which she normally wouldn’t want. While her claustrophobia was rather specific, she never liked being in a suit longer than she had to. “And then we can do as you suggest and test the boots first too,” she said to Johann.

“Yeah. Let’s suit up now, regardless of where we’ll be during all of this,” the Captain said. “You should probably be at the shuttle controls, definitely to check the sensors once we kick this thing off,” he said to Vora.
Vora simply nodded. She’d be on top of it, but she could admit it was good to have a specific task in this case. It would keep her nerves at bay.
He looked at the engineer, whose name he couldn’t remember. “Do you need my help getting the door open, or have you got that covered?”
– Johann Dvorak, CO
The engineer tilted her head in thought for a moment. “I’ll need your help to have it go faster. We’ll need to access the manual overrides on both sides of the bay doors and while it doesn’t need to be done simultaneously, doing it at the same time saves time. Oh, be sure to anchor yourself with a safety line in addition to magnetizing the boots. Just want to be extra safe with things.”
GM Dread
“Good call,” the Captain confirmed. A safety line couldn’t run out of power.
Moving over to a nearby storage locker, Vora found an EVA suit that would fit her and went through the process of putting it on, pushing away the tremor of unease that moved through her as each piece went into place. She’d wait to initiate the helmet and visor until the last minute. “You know, having shorter hair makes the helmet so much easier,” she joked idly. Levity certainly never hurt in a crisis.
~Vora Zorell, Sciences
“Having no hair at all makes it a snap,” Johann joked just as the seal closed on his own EVA suit helmet. Then he opened it again, since he didn’t want to actually power anything up until they were in position.
He also grabbed a couple of safety lines and handed one to the engineer. He attached one end of his safety line to his suit, and held the loose end for now. He would attach it to an appropriate anchor on the deck or bulkhead when they were ready to proceed.

The engineer got suited up as well and took the extra safety line from the Captain. She headed to the atmospheric controls and waited for Vora to get into the shuttle.before signalling to Johann that she was going to decompress the bay.
After she double checked her suit’s seals and atmosphere, she operated the console and proceeded to vent the bay. After the pressure hit zero she then headed to the right side of the bay doors, secured her safety line, and uncovered an access panel.
The Captain had secured himself at the appropriate position on the left side of the bay doors.
She opened an area comm channel to talk to Johann and Vora. =/\=Captain, you’ll need to get into the access panel there and press the corresponding buttons. Delta, delta, epsilon, gamma. Then grab the handle of the cylinder, pull it as far as it will go, then rotate it one hundred and eighty degrees counter clockwise before pushing it back in fully. That’ll release the door locks and we can then manually crank it open if the tractor beam idea doesn’t work.=/\=
GM Dread
=/\= Alright, =/\= the Captain said. He keyed the appropriate sequence into the panel and then turned the lever according to the instructions.
=/\= Lieutenant Zorell, is the shuttle ready? =/\= If she was ready, then next he’d have Engineering cut power and see if their crazy plan could work…
