=^=Roger that Europa, enter orbit at 38 degree azmith and you can hold position there. We too have been experiencing random security breaches. I’ll let Admiral Mcginnis know. Starbase 51 out. =^= The flight controller stated.Oh, well, gee, I guess if you’re having them also then it must not be that big of a problem, Johann thought sarcastically. Not like it could be something that would indicate a security problem in this sector that maybe we’d need to alert the fleet about.
On the security station, the computer indicated that whoever was attaching the ships computer was trying a direct attack to gain access to the ships culinary database.

Avik nodded then directed the helmsman to follow the coordinates. She then hit her badge comm summoning Engineering to the bridge, her figure moved toward the security station. She looked over the data to indicate what was being attacked. Her lips pulled into a long frown as she tried to reason the purpose of attacking the culinary data base.
OOC: Might need to use two NE as we haven’t any active Junior officers in that department.
–XO, Avik, Lt. Cmdr
OCC: Yep
IC: Less than 1 minute after the XO started looking at the security system, the computer indicated that the attack had ceased. A few moments later, NJG Ritezer and NC Jameson entered the bridge. NJG Ritezer and her young crewman Jameson approached the XO at the security station.
“Commander, whoever attack our computer system used what is called a ‘passive cyberattack’ on our system. We don’t know who or why just yet, but it was an external attack, outside the ship. What they were after makes no sense either.” She turned and looked at the young crewman, she nodded.
“Sir,” He stated his voice sounding nervous. He was just a kid, no more than 19 or 20 years old. It was his first time talking to any member of the senior staff. “The attackers went straight for my grandmothers recipe for Chicken noodle soup. Why didn’t they just ask?”
-GMT
“Possibly because they don’t know any better,” the Captain speculated aloud. “Or maybe they’re probing low security systems with the intent of gaining access to a higher security system.”
A young engineering ensign’s voice responded to Avik’s call for an engineer =^=Engineering here.=^= She said not sounding really nervous, just preoccupied and wondering where their new chief engineer was. She didn’t know anything about her, only knew that she was Bajoran.
Engineering Ensign
=/\= Engineering, this is the Captain. Find out what’s going on with the computer system. Work with all other departments to determine the source of the problem. Bridge out. =/\=
He looked at Avik. “Maybe you and I should have that meeting with Admiral Mcguiness now. Based on what the traffic controller was saying he might actually have some answers. We should probably just beam over.”
“Yes, it does seem the safer option,” Avik noted.
In the back of her mind, she worried about the crew’s morale falling. Their last mission had been much longer than normal and only a few had been able to stretch their legs, providing the perfect environment for mental conditions to sprout. She decided it was best to address the issue with the CO after the meeting with Admiral Mcguiness. The Admiral took higher priority than the crew at this present moment.
–XO, Avik, Lt. Cmdr
Then he looked at Marsh, the senior officer besides themselves present. “Mister Marsh, take over here. I want the entire volume of this planetary system checked with all sensors to find the source of whatever it was that just attempted to steal our chicken noodle soup recipes. Until we have a clear answer, you’re to remain in orbit and not dock with the Starbase, just in case there’s another intrusion that attacks a more sensitive system.” Docking was the single most dangerous set of manuevers a starship could engage in besides planetary landing (which the Europa actually was equipped to do).
“Does all of that make sense?” he asked to everyone present and no one person in particular.
