Peter had come aboard with the last shuttle of recruits from the Starbase. It had been a long exhausting trip from the Ogawa to Halcyon and he had enjoyed his few days layover while he waited for the Constellation to dock. He had stopped by his quarters, stowed his gear and met his bunkmate. He had seemed like an affable fellow. Now his long legs were leading him to sickbay. Not one of his favorite places to be but there you had it. It was regs. Striding through the opening doors of sickbay, Peter paused and took a moment to look around. He noted a few of his fellow shuttle mates from the transfer and decided to take a seat to wait his turn. Having gotten his own internship at Starfleet Medical while completing his Masters in Psych he well knew the hurry up and wait found in most busy medical bays.

Sickbay was quite busy that particular day. In addition to new crew there for their medicals, there a number of patients showing a variety of strange symptoms. A red haired doctor approched Peter.
“Are we lost?” he asked.
-Harry
Peter’s eyebrow raised and an amused light came into his eyes and a dimple appeared at the side of his mouth as if while he answered he was trying not to smile.” I have no idea if you are, doc but I assure you, you are in sickbay. Myself, I am here by design. Lieutenant junior grade Cross reporting for my med exam.” Finally giving in to the urge to smile, Peter offered his hand to shake.

“I would, but…” Harry said indicating to the blue ‘spray on’ gloves he was wearing, “I don’t think you wanna catch that.”
An engineering crewman chuckled in the corner while checking a console at the Ensigns expense.

Peter’s glance caught the engineers and he grinned and winked in response to the other man’s laugh.
“Take a seat at the bio bed over there, I’ll be with you in a minute,” Harry replied, “With a clean pair of gloves on.”
-Harry
“Sure, doc.” Peter said affably as he made his way over to the indicated biobed and hitched himself up onto it. He sat quietly and watched the hustle and bustle of sickbay around him. Familiarizing himself with the faces of the crewmen he was seeing. He would eventually have names to go with them, either through introduction or files due to carrying out his duties.
