=^= Johnson to the CE, please report to my ready room =^= came the voice of the commanding officer in a crisp concise manner as he sat behind the pristine desk situated in the centre of the bleak ready room.

Michael sighed and made his way to the Captain’s ready room. He pressed the door chime with no clue what lay on the other side.

“Enter” came the humble response of the ships commanding officer. Upon entry, the ships Chief Engineering Officer would observe a tall human male sat behind a standard-issue desk. Behind this desk, the captain could be found studying a number of detailed plans regarding the layout of the ship and its specification. “Ahh Lieutenant, come in and take a seat” the captain went on to say as he looks up from the abundance of plans he haad been studying.

As Michael walked, in he noticed the grand number of blueprints and specifications on the Captain’s desk. This is gonna be bad. He sat down. “So. What can I do for you today sir?”

“So over the last few weeks, I have spent my evenings studying the ship’s specifications in more detail looking for more ways to improve and develop the ships and if current functions. I have come up with a total of three tasks I would like to see us develop on the ship.” the captain spoke taking a brief pause to clear his throat and turn the monitor that was mounted to his desk. “Task 1 designing and building a full catering kitchen and secondary eating area on deck 20 in General Purpose Area 1 in order to have Starfleet post a full time Chef and catering onboard so the current cook doesn’t have to keep producing replicated meals and we can have some real-life produce prepared onboard.” The captain paused pointing out the specific area on the monitor to the CE. “you with me so far” he went on to say.

So far? Michael thought. If this was only step one, it was going to be a double overtime kind of week. “Got it. Full service kitchen. What’s up next?” He considered demanding a promotion after this.

“Next on the list would be the installation of the ships entertainment module reference to it can be found in Section 36 paragraph 6 of the ship’s specifications.” the captain responded pulling up the relevant information on his personal console as he did.

“Right sir.” Any more back breaking labour for us?

“Personal wise a lot of the work may be just me you and Yelchin as I need the rest of the crew focusing on their day to day duties in regards to the Entertainments Module I may utilise the full Engineering department depending on the time frame required. ” he went on to say.

“Well,” Michael sat back “Engineers are used to working double shifts sometimes. Somebody has to make sure the coffee’s hot in the morning.”
