James followed the Captain into the Briefing room quietly. Now it was business it was time to halt the jokes, at least for now.

CSO

Aaron stepped into the briefing room, and checked his chair before sitting down.

Khavo trailed after the others, crossing her legs beneath herself after climbing into a seat. Intertwining tattooed fingers, Khavo glanced expectantly at Johnson, awaiting news of their upcoming mission.

“For those of you who do not know a short while ago on the bridge, I received a transmission from Starfleet command more specifically from Admiral Ramirez and his Cat.” the commanding officer began by saying as he sat down at head of the table looking forward at his senior officer “Following a conversation regarding how we both were and the overall health of the Connie the Admiral told me of a planet in the Seleri system. A pleasure planet called Evagan” he concluded by saying as he tapped several buttons on his PaDD and pulled up a star chart of the map on the viewing screen that was housed within the wall. When telling me about the planet the Admiral told me how the Constellation is been sent here for some shore leave this is something I am sure you are all more than happy to hear about.” he said with a slight chuckle and grin.

“Our orders are simple,” the man said standing up in a stern manner. “Report to the planet and participate in shore leave, check the place out and make a report to Starfleet on how we found it and our encounters there” pausing for a breath he spoke once again. “Does anybody have any questions thus far?”

Captain Johnson, CO

Cross had been sitting silently listening as the Captain spoke.”Starfleet doesn’t usually send a starship out on such a benign mission, is there more then meets the eye here, Captain?” He asked.

Cross Sec

“Possibly, Mr Cross but sadly all of the information that I just provided is all that I have been given. It may be a good idea to take caution during our initial arrival to the planet” he said in a confused manner pondering to whether the security JO could be correct in regards to there been more than meets the eye.

James chuckled “Isn’t there a saying about horseslooks and giftmouths or something” a sardonic grin plastered on his face “But the question is sound, I assume that Starfleet finds some need in sending us to visit this planet.” He asked.

CSO

“It’s my job to look gift horses in the mouth, Lieutenant.” Cross said with a wry smile as he waited for the Captain’s response.

Cross Sec

“I guess it is a case of getting there and going from there” the man gave in a simple manner.

Captain Chris Johnson, Commanding Officer

Cross frowned as he considered their upcoming mission. How could he assist in being sure they were ready to meet any unknown contingency?
“Given the unknown parameters of our mission, sir, might I suggest us being sure to seed our security officers throughout the resort so that we can be prepared for any contingency? We have been ordered to utilize the resort for shore leave so we can certainly make it look casual.” He would also be sure to leave a decent contingency on board to keep an eye on the tactical sensors.

Cross Sec

Although difficult to tell by the contradicting lines of her facial pattern, Khavo’s expression was ridden with skepticism. “I agree with Cross. It sure sounds like they’re hiding a slug in a butterfly’s wings.” Shore leave, despite considered blasphemy by how little it was come by, presented itself oddly in this situation. Perhaps it was the businesswoman in her, or the innate skeptic. Whatever it was, she didn’t like the sound of this.. no matter how much she was craving a night she wouldn’t remember.

James looked between the Operations Officer and Security Officer “Perhaps we should all keep a close eye on everything. I’m more than up for doing a close examination of their alcho” Before he could finish his sentance the door opened.

Gong’da came in panting and with very noticeable amounts of blood on his uniform. He smiled and tried to get his breath. “Sorry I am late Captain and everyone else. I had a problem in sickbay but with the proper amounts of sedation and restraints, things are fine now. ” He went over and tried to jump into one of the Hew-mon adult chairs but was too tired and decided to set on the floor. “Can I trouble someone for a big glass of water please? I’m too tired to get up. “

Gong’da CMO

“Perhaps yee’d like a new uniform as well?” James asked with equal amounts of worry and morbid curiosity.

CSO

“Perhaps. But I have only enough energy for one thing right now and water would be good. Please be a dear and get me a glass?” He said batting his eyes towards the CSO.

Gong’da CMO

James nodded and stood up, walked over to the replicator and pressed in the command for ice-water. Returning a moment later and handing the Ferengi the glass “Now dont drink to fast lad, we have a mission to prepare for… well I guess a vacation is what they call it these days.”

CSO

“Don’t jinx it, Grey.” Khavo waved a finger across the table at him. “We want at least a teeny chance at vacation–.” She quickly slapped both hands over her mouth, as if the word were taboo. “I mean, you know what.” She said, after slowly withdrawing. “So be careful what you say.” Despite frivolous words, Khavo was dead serious.
