Harry looked at Pierce’s medical record to check whether her condition & allergy were noted.

“Precisely,” Harry replied with a smile in response to Pierce’s light bulb moment.

“So do you take any medication for your ADHD?” Harry asked.

“That’s the one! No, I used to when I was little, but it makes my brain all fuzzy when I take it.” Her expression turned serious. “I know, I know, some people sometimes think I’m fuzzy anyway, but it’s really bad when I’m on those medicines, I’m better without it. Like, way better. My brain’s always going on different tracks and sometimes the train gets there without a stop being announced by the pilot but it does land at the parking spot… well you know what I mean!”

“I do,” Harry replied as he checked her medical record to see if she should be taking any meds.

Her medical records would show the cheese allergy listed, with a comment that the allergy symptom was “upset stomach,” and would show that the only medications she had been prescribed in the last five years were a short term analgesic once, and a burn cream, both given two years ago, and a couple antifungal treatments.

Harry flipped the tricorder shut. “Everything seems to be in order,” he replied with a smile, “So once the counsellor has signed off your boarding psych, you’re ready for duty.”

“Aye aye!” Katherine said, hopping off the bed. “Thanks, Doc. Oh, I’ll have to bring my daughter in for her annual checkup at some point… I’ll make sure she’s wearing mittens, she likes to take things apart otherwise! Bye!”
