As he walked the halls of the Starbase, Avarak made a mental note to schedule sessions with all of the crew members as soon as he could, especially the ones who had been with the ship the longest. It was rather illogical to get that attached to a ship, but he would do his best to help them all work through the issue.

It was easy to spot the crew from Viking, even if Mike didn’t know everyone. You just had to see, who was looking the gloomiest. Although he wasn’t the happiest either, specially not knowing what will happen to him now, that his mission came to a sudden stop, he still decided to try and cheer up anyone he met.
“Hey guys, you won’t believe.” He spoke as he approached Kristi and Kalika. “They actually have working replicators here in the mess hall. You order a steak, it actually tastes like a stake. We should definitely check it out.” Turning to Kristi he added. “We both got quarters in the same hallway, isn’t that nice. We’re neighbours.”
He could easily get one bigger quarters for Kristi and himself, but it didn’t feel like the right time to further their relationship like that to him. He hoped he might get to talk to Kristi alone later, and find out what she’d like as well.Lt. Mike Stone, Former Chief engineer on USS Viking
Lt. Sharvi disembarked the Pennington a little bit behind the others. He got his stuff and his room key. The NE also passed along to him Lt. Darz room number. He started walking and saw Kal, Ensign Kristi and Lt. Stone together, so he joined them. “Hey guys.” Is all he could really say. He was just happy that Kal made it out safely. She already disappeared on him once, he didn’t want to think about it happening again.
Lt. Sharvi, CMODeparting silently from Pennington was a man who looked to be rounding up the end of his career. He would not blame an observer for thinking that, he was an older gentlemen with a bit of a belly. His hair was grayed and his eyes had bags underneath. He had the face of a tired man. Yet what could be mistaken for exhaustion was in actually anxiety. Over his shoulder was a single duffle bag. The transporter had already taken care of the rest of his luggage. But his personal bag he kept with him at all times. Maxwell Watley had been contempt to be a nobody in Starfleet, and even though his career had been lackluster up until this point, the older man was satisfied with his service. He had come from a line of successful starfleet officers, and now, the Viking was giving him a chance to take his place in his family line. It was an opportunity that both inspired and terrified him simultaneously. Stepping out of the airlock and onto the starbase, Watley took in a deep breath. His chance for success had finally come, and he was not foolish enough to pass it up.

Kristi smiled as Mike approached and reached out to take his hand, her bag easily slid to the other side to make room. “I doubt I remember what a steak tastes like, honestly. It was all running together on the ship.” She laughed. “I think we ordered things we liked so the look would be a help in digestion.” She glanced at Kali and Sharvi as the Doc appeared. His look at her was the way she looked at Mike. She guessed they all wanted to be alone, with respective partners and decided to make the first move. Glancing back at Mike, she smiled and squeezed his hand. “I’m glad we’re close. Let’s go see the rooms then eat. I imagine once our adrenalin of the shift in environment wears off, we’ll all be hungry. I’m sure we’ll see you guys later,” she nodded and tugged Mike slightly to hint at a swift departure.

EngineerKalika’s face had been a blank canvas as she and Kristi exchanged pleasantries. As Stone arrived, she put on a smile, but it didn’t quite reach her eyes. She was tired. More than tired, she was weary. She had hardly gotten any sleep since the destruction of the Viking. Her fear was when she closed her eyes, she’d open them and be someplace else. She knew it was the ship and not her that had disappeared this time. But in the dark, alone in her quarters, her mind didn’t come to the same conclusion. She had been avoiding Sharvi the last 48 hours for fear he would see her fatigue and give her a hypo when she wasn’t looking so she would pass out.
She had been hoping to keep up the track record when Sharvi appeared. But this time, though her face never changed, her eyes did. The smile lit them up even when her lips didn’t smile any broader. He was safe. Another anomaly her mind had fabricated on the edge of non-sleep when she let herself slow down enough to start to doze. As Kristi made an excuse to leave, she nodded to Sharvi. “We should go as well. I am sure we will see one another soon.” She turned to Sharvi and nodded. “I need to find my room as well. I came thru with a small crowd and didn’t stop to ask my assigned quarters.” She had hoped it would give her a reason to hide her exhaustion from his gaze before he noticed.
Kalika
(So beyond tired, it’s not funny… or medically sound, I’m sure hehehe)“They told me that you asked them to pass your quarters information to me.” He whispered it to her. “Go get some rest, sweetie. We’ll talk later. I’m just glad you’re safe.” He knew as the past CoS of the ship, she had checked the whole ship, and was one of the very last to leave, but he was forced to leave without her when a patient ensign in the escape pod needed medical assistance.
Lt. Sharvi, CMOKalika nodded. “Thank you.” She glanced at the other two and smiled with a short nod. “Settle in well. I am sure we will run into one another again soon.” She glanced once more at Sharvi with a bit more intimacy than she gave anyone else and turned and headed for her room. With luck, they would get some more time together soon. It seemed they would have plenty in the next few days, being without a ship and all.

(once more displaced)
Kristi nodded to her and sighed as the woman took off down the corridor. “Doc, keep an eye on her, please. She has been thru so much. And this can’t be easy for her. It’s not easy for any of us. But she’s gonna need reassurance this isn’t a bad dream and she’s gonna wake up in that other place. I only spoke to her a time or two. But I gathered she never truly settled back in this time. This displacement might really take a toll on her.” She squeezed Mike’s hand smiling. “We need to help one another more than ever. Don’t we?” She glanced at both guys to be sure they were aware that there were things they needed to be aware of.
