When Amber turned the dials to access directly the colony’s comm array she found it operational and accessible. In fact she had open access! Something that at the least shouldnt be possible without some level of hacking involved. Someone or something had left the system access wide open. This in turn triggered an automated test message. The print out on the screen read only four words =/\= Don’t trust the cows =/\= how....odd?

Myasnikov keep looking signs of other ships, both in space and around the colony.

Amber frowned. “Ummm… Capt… I mean, Mr Black Wolf… there is an odd message coming from the array. It seems I have unlimited access to it. Which, in and of itself would be questionable. But the message says ‘Don’t trust the cows’.”

She had to remember that the helmsman was in control of the bridge, not the Captain. Though, in remembering that, she once more worried if they were all right. Who sent a message about cows? Obviously someone not in their right mind.

With open network access Amber could try to investigate into accessing the colonies systems and data traffic access if she wanted.

Kohana spun in the chair to face the communications officer. “Did you say ‘cows’, ensign. As in, like, ‘hamburger’?”

He stood and moved up behind Josen , looking over her shoulder. “Don’ trust the cows. . . ’ he muttered. ” Good work on getting access. Can you pinpoint the location that message is coming from? Can we pick up any other chatter.?”

Amber smiled. “Yes, Sir… as in ‘hamburger’.” At his request she started searching. “If there is anything out there,” she commented over her shoulder, “I’ll find it.” She went thru the channels she knew were for the station then started spreading the search to look for any signal on the surface they could tap into.

Signal searches now boosted through the interference by the colonies own comm array found one signal near the first away team in the fields/near the mining tunnel out in the field near the access point near the tunnel. The faint signal though and type range likely indicated it was some personal radio receiver for news and such, still it couldnt hurt (or could it?) to check it out. The second signal was within the main admin building from the comm array’s computer processor itself, it too came back clean though this time and simply said =/\= Dont Trust The Cows =/\= This time in a voice sounding like a strained woman’s voice, there was also the sound of what seemed a gutteral ‘moooing’ behind her deeply frightened voice.
