Cerny and T’Pria with two NE security guards were the first transported. When the golden hue of light reassembled them they were set down on the edge of the colony farming area near to where the larger fires burned in the fields and the mining shaft nearby. Smoke was coming from both areas and fires still burned. But by a stroke of luck they also found a fire fighting vehicle nearby half its right front corner smashed into a large metal shed.

NE Frist spoke up “..Urgh man that smell of the smoke is nasty. Like burnt decayed meat mixed with copper…” He said scanning the area visually.

NE Sconed replied. “..Not as bad as your bed sheets roomie.” He jibed.

“Enough chatter,” T’Pria chastised the two security officers over her shoulder. Away from the enclosed structure of the ship and to the vast open countryside of this planet, the Vulcan instantly regretted not changing out of the tiny regulation dress and into something more practical. Still, it would be illogical to dwell on the matter when she was powerless to rectify it. Illogical also to fully dismiss the words of NE Frist without at least a cursory examination. Burnt, decayed meat. She wondered suddenly if they would discover humanoid bodies amongst the burning wreckage around them.

“I suggest that we examine that vehicle,” the engineering chief announced, simultaneously marching a path in its direction and activating her tricorder to search for any localised signs of life. “It might still contain equipment that we could use.”

“Agreed. Let’s go,” Cerny said, as if T’Pria needed to be told that. Since she was already scanning with the tricorder, he decided to simply look around with his eyes for any form of movement along the horizon. He’d unsling his tricorder if there was something specific to scan for.

He took out his communicator, and flipped it open. =/\= Cerny to Sentinel: Transport complete. Out. =/\= He then promptly closed it, and replaced it on his belt.
