After a brief bit of coordination between the transporter teams of the Declaration and Sentinel, the first six wounded Marines were beamed over from the battlecruiser.
The relative quiet of the lounge—now a triage center—was broken by the sounds of the injured patients.
The first pair consisted of one Marine leaning on the other. The man had a disruptor wound to his left thigh that had been hastily bandaged, and the woman was providing him support and helping him walk, even though she had blood all over her face as well.
Since both were still conscious, she asked one of the crewmembers to help them get settled and scan them and report back with their injuries to her.
Two more Marines held a stretcher carrying a Tellarite Marine who was still writhing in pain despite being unconscious.
The last Marine stood under her own power, barely, but her left forearm was missing completely and was covered with only a field dressing.
Dana motioned to nurse Molly to take care of the armless Marine, since a field dressing wasn’t able to stave off an aterial bleeding for long, while she looked around to see if her forearm had come with her.
A quick look around revealed that nobody was carrying a severed forearm, but Nurse Molly escorted the armless Marine to the closest bed.
There was no arm in sight. Well, she would have to make do with a prosthetic, the chances they would still have the time to find her arm and beam it over in the time left to safely reattach it was very minimal.
Crewman Largas’s voice came over the comms again. “Doctor, we can have another group beamed to you in about 20 seconds if you can clear the area.”

Dana then motioned to two other helpers to move the unconscious Tellarite to a bed, so she could scan him. As soon as he was out of the beaming location she opened a channel to the transporter room.
=^= Anu to Largas, I can’t give you a set timeframe, if they are unconscious we need longer to move them. I’ll let you know when you can proceed with the next group. We’re ready now. =^= she said, while scanning the Tellarite to find out what was wrong with him.

[O]”Understood, Doctor… the Declaration says it’s just two more batches of wounded Marines.” [C]
The comms channel closed.
After the Tellarite was placed on another bed, Dr. Anu went over and began scanning him. He had suffered some sort of concussive impact that had shattered the front of his rib cage. Some of the bone shards were tearing through muscle whenever the Marine breathed.
She called to two helpers. “This one needs to be brought to sickbay for emergency surgery, stat.” she ordered. That meant there were only two biobeds left now in sickbay.
Stovik opened the shared channel to Transporter Room 3 and Medical.
=^= Specialist Largas, Stovik. Medical has designated the lounge triage area as the primary transport destination. Science will provide transporter priority based upon current life-sign telemetry. One occupant is presently classified orange and thirteen yellow. Transport the orange casualty first, followed by the yellow-designated survivors as transporter capacity permits. Remaining survivors may then be recovered systematically. Continue coordinating available capacity with Nurse Molly. =^=

Science Specialist[O]”Understood, sir. We’ll jump on that as soon as we’re done transporting the wounded Marines from the Declaration.” [C]
Another set of Marines beamed in, but Dr. Anu didn’t get a chance to even look in their direction. The blood-spattered Marine who had helped one of her compatriots limp to the bed was now in his face.
Dana quickly scanned her up close to verify that there was nothing seriously wrong with her and that the blood on her face was not hers.
“Doc… he took a disruptor blast to the leg. Goddamned ridgeheads! I took the bastard out, though.” The Marine made a face as she relived the memory. “Must have hit an artery or something, because he was pumping out blood fast until they used a battlefield regenerator. Nurse said it wouldn’t hold long, though.”

She was obviously still high on adrenaline, which could mask effects of shock and the perception of pain, so Dana checked if her pupils were expanded while answering
“Yes, you did very well. Now I need you to help him lie down there on this bed and lift up his leg by 90 degrees, so he doesn’t lose any more blood than necessary until we can patch him up.” she said calm and kindly.Dr Anu, CMO
Two of the runners took the stretcher and moved the Marine with the shattered ribs to Medical while Dana saw to the female Marine.
Dr. Anu’s initial assessment seemed to be correct. The female Marine was already showing signs of confusion, and her skin appeared clammy. Taking care of her friend was likely the only thing keeping her anchored at the moment.
“It was hell in there,” she mumbled while holding up her friend’s legs. “But we got it. We got it, Reavis. Mission complete, buddy. Mission complete.”
Dana nodded.
Dana’s tricorder indicated that the man was borderline at the moment, but he should be easy to stabilize. The most critical issue was the battlefield regeneration of the deep femoral artery. It had saved the man’s life, but it wouldn’t hold up for long.

Dana quickly read the scan results and motioned to two helpers. “Take him to sickbay, he requires blood and surgery on his leg.” she said. Under normal circumstances she wouldn’t let him out of her eyes, but these weren’t normal circumstances.
As the helpers put him on a stretcher, Dana distangled the Marine from him and tried to catch her attention and establish eye contact, to be able to see when the shock would take her down by the change in her pupils.
“Listen to me, what is your name” she asked in a soothing voice. “I will give you a hypo now, you are in shock, which is totally understandable, you saved your mate’s life and now it’s ok to take care of yourself.
She took one of the prepared hypos that had a tranq in them, without breaking eye contact.
