The turbolift doors parted with a soft hiss, revealing the controlled activity of the USS Sentinel’s bridge beyond. Stovik remained just inside the threshold rather than immediately stepping out, his posture straight and composed as officers moved between their stations under the muted glow of indicator panels and sensor displays.

His dark Vulcan robes stood in stark contrast to the surrounding Starfleet uniforms, though the Vulcan himself seemed entirely unconcerned by the distinction.

Dark eyes settled upon Commander Thraz sh’Kellirathras near the command well. After a brief moment, Stovik inclined his head respectfully.

“Commander sh’Kellirathras,” he said evenly from the turbolift entrance. “Specialist Stovik reporting aboard the Sentinel under transfer orders from the Vulcan Science Academy and the USS Chernov.”

He paused with characteristic formality.

“Requesting permission to enter the bridge and formally report for duty, sir.”

The Vulcan remained where he was, hands folded calmly behind his back as the bridge carried on around the First Officer, waiting patiently for acknowledgment before proceeding further.

Stovik
Science Specialist

“Ah Specialist Stovik, It is an honor to have you here, permission granted.” he said with a smile, there had been a time that thier two people were not in good standing with one another but those days had largly passed into history. “I trust your quarters are in order? did you see the doctor before reporting here?” he asked

Executive Officer, USS Sentinel

Stovik stepped forward from the turbolift with measured precision, the folds of his dark Vulcan robes settling neatly as the doors whispered closed behind him. Around him the bridge of the Sentinel operated with controlled efficiency — officers moving between stations beneath the subdued glow of instrumentation, the steady pulse of status lights reflecting across polished consoles.

It was a markedly different atmosphere from the Chernov. Less tension in the air. Less urgency. The ship possessed a quieter rhythm, one that reminded him of older Starfleet philosophies centered more upon exploration than confrontation.

His gaze briefly moved across the stations, silently cataloguing workflows, personnel interactions, and the cadence of bridge operations before returning to the Executive Officer.

“You are most courteous, Commander,” Stovik replied with a respectful inclination of his head. “My quarters are satisfactory, and my belongings have been secured.”

At the mention of the doctor, he answered immediately.

“I have already reported to Sickbay and undergone medical evaluation. I have been cleared for duty without restriction.”

Though his expression remained characteristically composed, inwardly he found the exchange with the Andorian officer… notable. Historical tensions between Vulcans and Andorians were well documented, yet Commander sh’Kellirathras projected neither suspicion nor guardedness. Merely professionalism. Perhaps even warmth by Andorian standards.

It was… encouraging.

His eyes shifted briefly toward the main viewscreen where the stars stretched endlessly ahead of the Constitution-class vessel. The Sentinel represented more than a simple transfer assignment. It was an opportunity to redefine his role after leaving formal Starfleet service behind for the Vulcan Science Academy and, now, returning once more to a Starfleet environment as a civilian specialist.

Different circumstances, different perspective and
perhaps even a different purpose.

Returning his attention fully to the XO, Stovik folded his hands calmly behind his back once more.

“The bridge demonstrates a commendable level of operational discipline, Commander. I anticipate my assignment aboard the Sentinel will prove both productive and intellectually worthwhile.”

Thraz looked up from his notes. “Excellent Mr Stovik, I don’t see why you can’t make contact with the chief Sicence officer and then get to work. Welcome aboard” he noted.
