He smiled, “You should try a romance novel read to you by a deltan sometime” he said with a slight lift of his eye brows. “It’s very, immersive” he said laughed.

Communication Officer U.S.S SentinelLeah burst into laughter and it was a good thing she wasn’t holding her coffee mug just then. “I bet it is!” she said, half sighing as she grinned. Leah shook her head. “I think I might have to swear off romance for awhile. It is not in my best interest.” She lifted the mug and sipped, letting the hot liquid settle something in her. She still felt off but she just couldn’t quite pin point what it was.

Zaril, “well at least I got a laugh out of you” he said with a grin. “Not sure it would be the best thing for me right now either to be honest, but it is interesting.” he looked at her for a moment. “Are you ok?”
Lieutenant Junior Grade Zaril Dovek
Communication Officer U.S.S SentinelIt was one of those moments where if the question had been posed in Sickbay, her answer would have been different. Not because she didn’t trust everyone there, she absolutely did. But she didn’t want everything to be a thing right now. Not after Risa.
Lifting her brown eyes to Zaril, she blinked. “I don’t know. I know I’ve been through something traumatic and I’m just trying to get through each day, but I feel off. I can’t explain how I know or what it is, just that there’s something going on. But of course there is, right? So I’m trying to give myself time and space to work through everything. It’s just hard.” It was easy to just smooth over the feeling and let it pass for now. Later, she could examine it more closely, but she was on duty right now.

Zaril put a hand on hers, well maybe come have dinner after you get off duty, I am an excellent cook. The sense of calm and peace it was what he normally projected, but the contact intensified it a little.”no preasure pfcourse he said taking his hand back

Communication Officer U.S.S SentinelIn that brief contact, there was a fleeting sense of something other in Leah. Not unlike her unusual fatigue, it was just something a little ‘off’ about their Nurse Practitioner.
Leah smiled and it lit up her face. “You know what? That sounds really nice, actually. Chef Borsin is amenable to sharing the galley when it’s not meal times. If he says it’s okay, I’m game. We can even schedule it a little later if he’s worried about us getting in the way?” Oh to have the ability to have food in one’s quarters. Leah still hadn’t quite gotten used to that, but she figured out ways around it. Food to eat, yes, but not cooking. She hadn’t done any of that since she left Earth.

Zaril smiled “Ill shall talk to the chef then and see what I have to work with.” he said with his normal head tilt and bow. “Is there anything else you would like to discuss before then?” he asked his hands fidgeting, the contact was welcome it was something he needed greatly, but had to be carefull and respectful of the humans inability to deal with prolonged contact

She sipped her coffee and let the warmth lend her some comfort. “Not specifically. Though it’s nice to just take this break with a friend,” she said with a tired smile. “Although, at this rate, I’m going to have to have someone cover for me later so I can have a nap, or else I’ll be passed out in Sickbay. Or end up face down in my dinner plate. Neither is ideal,” she said, offering a light laugh.
