The steady hum of the ship’s systems filled the quiet bridge. Instrument panels glowed softly under the subdued lighting, their readouts cycling through routine diagnostics and star charts.Suddenly, the communications console emitted a clear, concise chime. A new transmission had just come through.
The communications station viewscreen flickered briefly, displaying the Starfleet seal — an unmistakable symbol that official orders were arriving.

Zaril looked at the light and cleared it and checked the message information. “Captian, in comming orders from starfleet .”

Communication Officer U.S.S SentinelRa’Ti, standing at the Tactical station, sighed and said “Goody. I was starting to get tired of rest and relaxation....” and he shook his head.
Ra’Ti, Chief Tactical Officer
Rende tossed an amused but trying to be serious look at Ra’ti and then spun in her chair and went over to the comms station. “Alright, Lt. Play it.”
Cpt. Asam, CO
“Aye Captian” he said, checking for any special orders before playing it. Zaril smiled slightly the bridge, a little excite me leaked out of him, he loved this part, it was a moment for him.

Communication Officer U.S.S SentinelThe comm speaker crackled — not loudly, but with the unmistakable stutter of a subspace relay stretched thin. Then came the voice. Tinny, clipped, and unmistakably synthetic — the flat tone of Starfleet’s long-range automated dispatch system.
“USS Sentinel, NCC-one-seven-nine-four — you are hereby ordered and directed to proceed to nebula six-eight-five, designation: Sagan’s Veil, in the Kaliphane sector.”
A faint glitch warped the word Kaliphane, but the message continued.
“Conduct full-spectrum scientific survey. Priority: routine exploration with secondary directive — investigate reports of sensor disruption and anomalous subspace behavior. Maintain standard safety protocols. Notify Starfleet Command upon arrival.”
Then a pause. A subtle shift in tone — not the voice itself, but the pacing.
“Orders confirmed and authorized — Admiral E. Thale, Starfleet Command. Authorization code: Charlie-Victor-three-four-Tango-Obsidian.”
The channel clicked off.
No further commentary. No follow-up data packet. Just the quiet bridge and the soft, steady hum of systems waiting.
-OZ
Zaril check the authorization code. “Code is authentic Captain ” he said checking for sny additional information that may be embedded in the com signal itself, data related to the mission.

Rende nodded, “Summon the senior staff to the conference room.”
A faint growl, barely audible beneath the ambient hum of the bridge, came from somewhere near the comm station. Whether it was the appetite stimulant prescribed in his last physical or simply poor timing, the source was unmistakable — Dovek’s stomach, making its own commentary on Starfleet’s timing.
-OZ
Zaril thought a moment, best he take care of his craving, but he will have to wait until the Captain gave orders. He could use something to eat.,

Rende patted his shoulder. “Take a meal break Lt. I’ll summon you if we need you.” Then Rende left the bridge heading for the conference room on deck 3.
