The Lexington had left him at Starbase K7 nearly a week ago, his orders and been delayed for no reason. He sat staring out the observation window looking at the Sentinel wondering what life would be like this time around. He had spent most his time here staring out at the ship, contiplating his future. It was always a challenge being around new people, most avoided him, others? well they were unpleasant in one way or another. No matter how controlled he was, There was always someone , normally multiple someone’s that wanted more. Today was different though, today his orders had cleared, he mistakenly packed them though and now could not remember the name of the Yeoman who was to meet him at the docking port.
As he stood waiting he tried to manage and control his nature, he did not want to start off having to drive someone way again. On the outside his calm monk like poise gave none of his uncertainty away. Those who walked by and did so close enough would feel a warmth and peace that they could not really explain and it would leave as quick as it came. A few would look back, or smile as they approached, he would nod ever so slightly but carefully monitored his body language and response to not send signals that might trigger unwanted interaction. He waited, his bag at his feat his arms and hands tucked neatly be hind his back.

Communication Officer U.S.S SentinelRand hurried theough the station. A last minute assignment had been placed wirh the Sentinel. Given the problems the ship was having, Rand had to go onto the station. She didn’t mind, but she had had to track someone down to manually open the docking hatch. She was moving a quick pace to make it on time.
Rand had never met a Deltan before. She had seen them when she had served here under Captain Jamson, but never met them. Their culture intrigued her. They were so relaxed and comfortable in their own skin. Or from afar they seemed so.
Rand suffered from extreme social anxiety, which made their ease in themselves enviable. She spotted the man right away and approached him. She took a deep breath and schooled her expression to the utmost professionalism. “Lt. Dovek, I am Lt. Farquharson, Yeoman from the Sentinel.”
Yeoman Rand
As Rand entered proximity and the words began to leave her, a sense of calm, peace, and safety softly washed over her. The young man before her was collected and appeared reserved, but something about him was welcoming. “Thank you Lieutenant for meeting me here,” he said with a slight nod. “I hope I have not put you out out in anyway?” he smiled ever so slightly. He was eager to get to his work and find his place on the ship.

Communication Officer U.S.S SentinelThe young yeoman smiled warmly. There was no sense of inappropriate curiosity or attraction from her. “Not at all. I do apologize for the state of the ship however. Normally l, you would have a full tour and time to settle in.”
Zaril was relieved that she was just there doing her job, no awkward feelings he had to saliently work through or manage in some way. The sense of calm and ease increased a little around him as he relaxed. “Not at all Lieutenant, perhaps you can give me a tour, or introduce me to some people if you get some time” he said making a little small talk. His counselor said he had to be more social.
Rand hated socializing, but this was part of her job, and she loved her job. “Of course, you will get a full tour, there are just… well you’ll see.” There was caution in her emotions. Not of him, but everyone else
She lifted the PaDD that she had hanging from a strap on her shoulder. “This is a copy of your orders if you would sign.”
Zaril glanced through his orders he had read them already but he wanted to make sure something had not change, in a moment he signed.
Then she handed him a data disk. “This has a copy of your duty schedule, the ship’s layout, social schedule, meal schedule, and your appointments with medical.”
Yeoman Rand
He really did not want to bring it up but it was required of him. “My oath has been certified and is on record with command” he noted, “Also I am required to see a counselor twice a month how would I add that to my list here?” he asked

Communication Officer U.S.S Sentinel“It’s already there,” Rand smiled. “Lt. Hart is also a certified Nurse Practitioner and a counselor. She will get you all set up for that.” Rand wasn’t even curious about the oath. She would be far too embarrassed to silently curious about it. “This way. Unfortunately the transporters are down, but your personal effects are being collected and brought over.”
Rand gave him a basic run down of the Sentinel’s specs on the way to the airlock. Two security officers were waiting at the docking hatch. She greeted both by name as they stepped through.
Once on the ship it was obvious there was a problem. The ship was almost completely powered down except for emergency lights and life support. “Now that we are out of the station I can tell you, we had an intruder on board. They sabatoged the computer. Once you have dropped off your things in your quarters and Medical clears you, Captain Asam would like you to report to the bridge.”
Yeoman Rand
Zraril smiled, “of course” he noted, “I’m sure you have more important things to do that show me where to go,” he said looking at the ship plans I think I can find my way to sickbay. ” he noted. “Thank you again Lieutenant.” he startked tracing his path to medical, this was going to be interesting.

Communication Officer U.S.S Sentinel“This way, the lifts are down, but there are access ladders at all five lifts. They circle the interior of the ship. We are on deck 11. Medical is two decks up.” Rand led him up to medical. “If you need anything just have them page me. Welcome aboard.”
Yeoman Rand
Zaril gave a slight nod, “Thank you Lieutenant you are most kind.” he said. As he entered sickbay and she moved on about her day, the peace that had been pressent left with him. It was something the entire crew was going to have to get used too.
