The boatswain’s whistle sounded across the ship’s intercom system and then Captain Asam’s voice came across the speakers. =/\=All senior staff report to the conference room immediately.=/\=Rand arrived shortly after, stocking the conference room with drinks and giving the captain a stack of blank data disks that had been requested. PaDDs were set at each chair and then Rand took up a seat out of the way to take notes on the meeting.
Rende sat at the head of the table, and copies their orders to the data disks and then setting them at each place for the senior staff to review.
Cpt. Asam, CO
Alden took his place next to Captain Adam, arriving within minutes of the summons. He inserted the data disk and began to look it over.
~ Cmdr Alden, XO/CSO
As the data disks were inputted into the computer console, a slightly robotic voice with some whirs and beeps, the computer spoke the following:

In the last 48 hours, the Andorian Mining Commission received a general automated distress call from the Refinery on Cipharus III. After 8 hours of the distress automation, all communication was cut. All indications are artificial jamming. There was no contact from Tallrus, the capital city of Cipharus III.
We hereby request the assistance of the Federation in establishing a diplomatic communication with Tallrus and investigating the source and cause of the distress signal from the refinery.

“Awaiting Instructions”
GM
‘I do love a good archaeological trip! Marcus said; the young Security officer sat at the conference table, pouring over the data packet, ‘We’ll need to prep for desert weather though!’
-Lieutenant Junior Grade Marcus Anders: Chief of Security-
The reptilian CMO entered and blinked one set of lids across his black eyes, followed by the second set. “Captain. Commander.” he said by way of acknowledging the CO and XO. He took his seat at the far end of the table with his back to the door and began reviewing the data disc.
Kreed, CMO
The Tactical officer was the next to arrive. The Efrosian walked in with his typical swagger and said “Mornin’ everybody!” and took a seat across from Kreed. “What’s up, Doc?” he asked and then filled a glass with water from a pitcher on the table. He saw everyone looking at their screens, looked down and saw the disc, shrugged, popped into the reader and began reviewing the data.
Once everyone was seated Rende looked across the table at her senior officers, “Information on our newest mission has been provided on the data disks at your consoles. 48 hours ago, the Andorian Mining Commission received a general automated distress call from the Refinery on Cipharus III. After 8 hours it stopped and all attempts at contact have gone unanswered. There has been no contact with the capitol city either. We do not know if it was a mining accident, some kind of protest or revolt, a natural disaster, or something more violent. Nor do we know if the cause was internal or external. Thoughts?”
Cpt. Asam, CO
“Any preliminary changes or issues come outta there in the past week or so? Might be worth reviewing any feeds from local news or any reports filed with Andorian Security forces or Federation law enforcement.”
“Excellent suggestion, look into that Ra’Ti. Anders, I want you to run background checks on the major players of the colony and mining company. Alden, you are our resident diplomat. Have Yeoman Rand help you pull any political and cultural information you may need. I also want your people to look into any possible natural or environmental causes that could have caused a disaster,” Asam rattled off.
=/\=Captain, this is Comms Officer Chatter, you have a priority one distress call that’s been routed through Andoria. I’ve encrypted it for you. =/\=
-GM
Asam held up a hand to quiet the room and then pressed the buttom in the table. [O]Put it on a data disk. I’ll send Yeoman Rand to collect it and bring it to me.[C] Shea nodded to Rand who got up and left.
Cpt. Asam, CO
Rende continued, “Johansson, look into their mining equipment and the infrastructure of the mine. Look for the same things. Kreed, we are probably looking at Medical emergency. Prepare your teams. Anything else?”
Less than 5 minutes later, the crackle of someone using a personal comm to access the ship’s comm came through the system. Then Yeoman Rand’s voice came over the speaker. [O]Intruder alert. Deck 2. Running aft, port side, Male, gold uniform, no rank, skewed insignia on left side.[C]
Once the lift opened Rand sprinted down the corridor toward the conference room.
Yeoman Rand
Ra’Ti didn’t speak, he just moved to his feet and bolted out the door. Turning aft he sprinted as fast as he could, telling “MAKE A HOLE!!!” to anyone in the passageway. When he came to the midship access ladder, he climbed the ladder with a speed born of utter familiarity and began to run towards where he estimated the intruder’s location to be.
Ra’Ti, Chief Tactical Officer
As the Chief stepped out of the hatch from the quick climb, the only thing seen from the intruder was the glow and sparkle of a teleport beam. The intruder had escaped from the ship.
Xam cursed… loudly and quite proficiently.
Rende stood, a half pace ahead of Ra’ti out the door. She was going to find the intruder and force some answers oit of them. Her hand itched for a phaser but she didn’t need one.
Roman was immediately behind him. “Move, move, move!” He shouted as he passed crew, following Ra’Ti.
~ Cmdr Alden, XO/CSO
Xam turned at the sound of the footsteps behind him and looked at the XO. “He’s gone., Commander. Saw him teleport. And since there aren’t any alarms going off about an unauthorized teleport in the ship, he’s off the Sentinel.” and he cursed again.
Roman scowled, too proper for such language, but having served long enough to understand its usage by Xam. “We’ll get to the bottom of this. Let’s get back to work.”
Xam nodded, but turned and flared at the spot the intruder has vanished from. His jaw clenched and he shook his head before turning and walking back towards the conference room
She was halted by a flash of gold and tartan plaid as Rand ran down the corridor toward her, calling out. Rende could sense the urgency in her voice and stopped. “Rand.”
OOC: Cross posting
[O]Randy tae anyone important. We’ve got a problem wi’ the computer, she’s shuttin’ doon an’ Ah cannae stop it. Ah dinnae know how long it’ll take tae come back online once the damn thing will respond tae ma controls.[C]
Randy, eng
Rende bit back a curse. [O] Do the best you can Lt. Then get it back on line as soon as possible.[C]
Rand came to a stop in front of the captain. “Captain. He joined me on the lift from the bridge. I didn’t notice him on the bridge,” she sounded like she took that as a personal failure, and Rand did. She prides herself in her attention to detail. “He said we were all in danger and to not go on this mission. He handed me this before he ran off down deck 2.” Rand handed her the paper she was still clutching in her hand.
Yeoman Rand
Rende took the paper and opened it to read the message.
Cpt. Asam, CO
The paper had ‘Danger - TQ’ and under it, a series of 10 digits. Those digits were familiar to the CO, as they were the coordinates to Cipharus III.
-GM
Rende looked over it and glared as if she could intimidate it into giving up answers. “Rand, are you alright? Were you hurt?”
“Yes Captain. He didn’t harm nor threaten me. Just said we were in danger and don’t go,” Rand told her.
“Alright, I want you to pull up the files on Cipharus III and see if anyone or any place uses the intitials TQ. Check the starbase records as well. Go to the starbase if you need to. Our computers may not be functioning well enough. Do you have the datadisk?”
“Yes, Ma’am,” Rand handed over the disk and then moved to the table and tried to pull the records from the computer that Asam asked for.
Rende took the disk and inserted it into the computer and pulled up the file.
Ra’Ti, Chief Tactical Officer
~ Cmdr Alden, XO/CSO
Xam walked back into the conference room and looked at the Captain. “Sorry Skipper. They beamed out before I could catch them.” and he flopped down in his chair and started drumming his fingers on the table, the scowl on his face almost palpable.
Ra’Ti, Chief Tactical Officer
Rende’s visage hardened, “Not your fault Ra’Ti. They were obviously prepared. They sabotaged the ship’s computer.” She held up the scrap of paper. “A warning to stay away from Ciphius III. They obviously weren’t prepared enough if they thought they could scare me off.” She handed the paper to Alden. “You and Anders get your forensic people on this. See if you can find out anything. Ra’Ti, go to the bridge, see if you can find any ships that leaving in a hurry. Alden I want scans to see if you can find out where he beamed to. Anders, you also need to get down to engineering and find out what happened there, and how they got on and off the ship. Kreed, get your emergency teams ready, but have a team search the ship incase anyone was attacked by these intruders.”
Cpt. Asam, CO
“On it, Skipper.” the Tactical officer said. Xam stood and walked out to the bridge
“I’ll send the SAR Team through the ship, Captain.” Kreed said and then stood up and walked to the door.
Kreed, CMO
Ra’Ti, Chief Tactical Officer
As the senior staff left, Rand sat that computer, hoping whatever had happened didn’t cascade and tried gathering the information Asam had asked for. Searching the files on Cipharus III for anyone or any place using the initials TQ. She checked the starbase records as well.
