USS Sentinel
You Can't Escape It
The ship’s docking hatch was busy. With now only… Rand glanced at her chronometer… 22 hours before they had to leave supplies and repair personnel were swarming the ship. Security was needed to check he supplies, monitor all the visitors and everything else. So Rand was checking people and shipments in at the docking hatch. The last of the repair crews had just gone in. Now she had to wait for any cargo that was coming on board. And to make sure that the crew that was being given an hour a piece on the station reported back.
There were only Star Fleet personnel around the hatch. This section was restricted to civilian personnel. Rand got her own hour a bit later, when docking traffic should slow down. She wanted to say hello to Cpt Jameson and some of the other Yeoman she’d worked with while she was here. But hopefully she’d have time for a little bit of shopping. Not much, she didn’t want to be in the crowds, but the clips and ties for her hair were wearing out and she wanted to replace them.
Her hour arrived before she knew it. A security officer came to take over for her so she could have her break. She wished Roman or Randy could go with her, but their times didn’t coincide. She took a deep breath. It was okay. She knew her way around K7, and where all the shops were, and locations and patrols of security. She would be fine. She was still in uniform, no chance to change into civilian clothing, so she would blend right in with the other officers.
That was not what happened…
