Good Morning, Afternoon and Evening (Depending on where you’re from!)

As some of you may have seen I have been lucky enough to be appointed as the Sentinels new Captain. Some, most of you I already know and there are a couple I do not. I have been on a number of ships but most prolifically I am the XO of the USS Leviathan.

I am genuinely lucky to be given such a unique vessel, from a unique Era and I honestly hope I can stay true to what Dave originally set out to do.

A young lad as myself I have never watched (until five days ago) an entire episode of TOS so I won’t lie it’s going to be one hell of a learning curve! That is why I decided to seek out someone who I knew and them me enough to keep me on the straight and narrow to be my Executive officer. So please also welcome Nicole C who will be the new Science DH and my Number 1. She has already educated me on ALOT of TOS content and I know she’ll make a fantastic addition to this crew.

I know it may seem a bit radical, a new CO and a new XO both of which have just completed their exams, but I am hoping that enthusiasm and perhaps that little bit of fresh thinking minds bring the Sentinel that spark of life. Over the next few days, I hope to get all our Departments some Junior officers and redshirt to experiment on by using a rather large network I think I’ve created, and a little MOTD revamp from the MOTD goddess herself Sharon.

I am an extremely open individual, I have an open-door policy and if anyone believes something I am doing IC or OOC is wrong or confusing to speak to me privately via discord or the sites Email system. I may not agree with you, and I may decide to continue however this will be done with extreme deliberation and probably asking the SMEs in this field, I need your input otherwise I wont know where I’m going wrong. There will be hiccups for that I am sure but I promise to make this role-playing environment the best it can be.

For the moment, I will be working with our lovely GM to figure out our next steps so over the next few days please bare with me and we’ll be setting sail ASAP! (probably tomorrow knowing me.)

Welcome onboard, Jake and Nicole!!! I’m sure you’re both going to be every bit as amazing as you are on the Levi and I’m so excited to be RPing with you both again! In contrast to the young pup that is Jake, I am definitely old enough to, not necessarily remember TOS from its first run but…pretty close :P So if there’s anything at all I can do to help you settle in then please just let me know!

Thank you! xD Hello everyone! I’m very glad to be here, and this will be my first XO role. I am however, confident in Jake and the ship’s crew and GM and I think we’re going to do well! I know most everyone from someplace or another, but either way, I look forward to roleplaying and working with everyone and I am always open for questions or advice or anything else!

Unless you want to change it I was just going to restart the sim we originally began and lagged on. If you want something different then I’ll need to work something up which will take a little time.

Welcome Jake and Nicole. Looking forward to RPing with you both. Jake, I have on a few ships, but Nicole, I believe this is the first time we’ve served together.
Unlike Sharon, I am old enough (barely) to remember watching the first run of TOS on a black and white TV. TOS has always been my favorite series (see my interview with Kate in the most recent newsletter) and always willing to answer any questions you might have. –Terry

Some of you may have noticed the MOTD change, just waiting for the images to be uploaded and then it’ll be complete. If any DHs have any specific quotes please let me know so I can change.

I may not know as much about The Old Scientists as others do, but the first episode of Star Trek I ever watched was the original original original pilot of the original series followed by a special hosted by Patrick Stewart called from one Generation to the Next, followed by Encounter at Farpoint … I was absolutely hooked in an instant. :)
