Hannah nodded. “Yes, mango, lemonade, and all the other flavors are from one fruit–dragon fruit. It’s very refreshing and doesn’t over power with the mix of flavors. I hope you enjoy it, Cmdr.” This is one of Hannah’s favorite drinks, if she’s not mainlining coffee for the caffeine. She turns in the seat to look back out across the lounge. She hadn’t met much of anyone else on board yet. She was going to have to try and make more of an effort to meet the crew. “Did you figure out what to do about your sister?” She asks the cmdr.

“Ah! I almost got it right. Yes caffeine isn’t everything, thank you to have let me know this drink. I guess I should add it into the ‘things to learn’ list.” He sipped again finishing half of the drink. Tasting the flavors almost made him forget of his sister, at which he hadn’t still talked yet “My sister? Ohh my sister… well I was thinking that maybe if she joins the Saracen I might control her a bit better. Still I will need to ask permission to Mr. Dante and do lengthy talks with the Fleet Commander and blah blah blah. They never told me that I would have had lots of paperwork to do, at least more than I expected as ex-academy tutor.” He smiled “What do you think about her’s transfer?” If he wanted to transfer his sister he thought that an external opinion was necessary before making BIG mistakes.

Hannah set down her drink, her hands beginning to move quickly. She was signing while she thought, totally out of habit, as she processed her thoughts. Then she stopped, and took a sip of her drink. “I think Cmdr that maybe, your sister needs to have the safety net removed. You were an Academy tutor, and now XO of a ship. No matter what she does you are there to catch her. Maybe, instead of being a big brother with position and influence, you should just be a big brother. Let her fall, let her make mistakes, and let her figure out how to fix them. She won’t become a reliable officer if she can’t, or won’t, make decisions for herself, or fix and learn from her mistakes.”

“So I shouldn’t take her onboard, this is what you’re telling me? Or maybe I am wrong, I’m confused…” He laid down also the glass on the table as he started thinking up about it “I know I mustn’t be always there for her, I mustn’t always offer myself to get her reports, but It is so hard to leave her alone. Ugh, I guess being a tutor got me the ‘protective’ mother perk, isn’t it?” He questioned the young lady “Ya know, I have taken the tutor’s path because I love to teach people about something and after the engineering career I decided that it was time to get a new generation working, fresh and creatives. Well it worked, but now that you enlightened me, I feel like I have made something wrong in the last months, not with my trainees but with her.”

Hannah shook her head, “No what I am saying is that you should ask yourself is it best for her and for you to bring her on board. What does she want? Does she want to come, or does she want the freedom to make her own place? And you are used to being a tutor and a mentor, but does she want you to be that or does she just need you to be her big brother?” Hannah took a sip of her drink and shrugged. “I don’t have siblings so I’m not the best person to ask. I’m not saying it was wrong, but sometimes there is more than one way to help another person.”

“Understandable.” The Commander looked out the space out of the window of the lounge “I guess I’ll be asking her if she wants a transfer then. Ah! Damn siblings… I need to contact also my brothers one day of these. Would you love to book one of mine? They’re younger than me and sincerely more gentleman than I am!” Hahaha, yes? he thought I’m being silly “Anyway, thanks for the fun you gave me today, I really needed it, Asimina. I bet you do have something do to or new people to meet so… I won’t be in your way, if you don’t want.” Checking his PaDD he noticed it was also almost moment for his shift to begin, but even with a full load day, the climb couldn’t take off his smile on his face easily “Next time I’ll make you try a drink of mine, should I?”

“I hope you and your sister are able to work out an arrangement that works for both of you.” Hannah was taking a sip of her drink, when the Cmdr offered to set her up with one of his brothers. She was a little shocked, why would the cmdr think she was looking to go out with anyone? Surely he didn’t think she was interested in him. He was nice enough, but he was the XO and she was a junior officer and she just wasn’t in that mind set. And again, he was the XO. Oh well, so much for a climbing partner. She would have to be ore careful. “No thank you, Sir. I’m quite alright on my own. And thank you for the climb.” She finished off her drink, but couldn’t help herself. She enjoyed trying new foods and drinks. “I would enjoy trying a beverage, thank you Cmdr.” Hannah put her glass down and then headed back to her quarters.
