Sinclair made his way to Sickbay. Last thing on his list was his on-boarding physical. He walked in, still a bit uneasy in the blue Medical and Science Section uniform he wore. The Lieutenant Commander pips on his collar were another source of unease, but he was getting used to it. His nearly seven foot and almost three hundred pound frame filled the doorway, and he looked around at the space.Stopping a passing nurse, he asked “Would it be possible to have my on-boarding physical done?”, his Scottish brogue rolling off his tongue and lending a friendliness to his tone.

The nurse nodded. “Certainly. Tell me your name and have a seat and I’ll see who is available” she replied.

“Lieutenant Commander Sinclair. Ship’s Counselor.” he said and took a seat as directed.
Lt. Cmdr. Sinclair, CNS
“Welcome aboard,” the nurse said, before moving off to another area of sickbay and disappearing around the corner.
A couple minutes later, a tall and willowy woman approached. Her dark eyes took him in and her chin length strawberry blond hair partly hide a leaf-shaped forehead ridge. “Commander Sinclair, welcome. There was a bet going as to whether we’d have to hunt you down or not, and I’m sad to say I’ve lost,” she said with a slight grin. “I’m Satreya Boja, Chief Medical Officer,” she said, offering her hand to him since she was well used to the gesture over her lifetime.
Lt. Boja, CMO
“A pleasure, Doctor.” Sinclair said as he stood and took her hand in his own massive one. Surprisingly, his grip was not crushing or even overly-firm. He squeezed just enough to promote full contact and show friendliness, but without the attempt at intimidation that was so common to men, especially human men, of his size. The smile on face was genuine, and he looked her in the eye as he spoke. “No, I am not one to shy away from Medical. I hope I can say the same for you when it comes time to update the mental health assessments.” he added with a slight chuckle. Normally, he would have tried to couch the Counselor’s evaluations in a more palatable terminology, but Sinclair knew that he was speaking with a medical professional and such an attempt could come across as demeaning.
