: : : : : : : : : : It was a quiet evening on the bridge, and nothing seemed to be happening, really. The Saracen was cruising through space, waiting for their next mission, when a long-distance message came in. Gavain was sitting at his post, and brushed his finger against the message, checking who it might be from. And boy, was he surprised when he saw the answer to his question. Quietly, he opened the message, although it was technically addressed to the captain.

: : : : : : : : : : Control was inviting several ships of Starfleet to a tour of certain areas of the planet - specifically, those ships with Galdori aboard. If they had a few weeks to spare, the Manhattan was invited to join. He glanced over his shoulder. Captain wasn’t in the big chair. Should he comm the man, or let him relax? The Hatriku considered it for a few moments, then pressed the button to hail the Captain. =^=Bridge to the Captain, we’ve got a message for you=^=

: : : : : : : : : Dante was in his Ready Room, the eternal mug of coffee sitting on his desk, but this time his feet were up as he read a few chapters of a book series he had found some interest in. =/\= Patch it through to my Console Lieutenant, lets see what my fan club has to say today =/\=

: : : : : : : : You and your senior staff are cordially invited to a two-week tour of Galdor, in honour of the 100th anniversary of Galdor joining the Federation. You are one of ten vessels that has been selected for this celebration, and we have already cleared it with Starfleet. The remainder of your staff will be welcomed for shore leave to selected areas of the planet which have been prepared to accommodate such volumes of visitors.

: : : : : : Dante looked over the message a number of times and consulted his schedule of places to be and when. They had time, that was certain and he was sure his crew would appreciate some downtime on a world many would have never visited. All in all, he couldn’t see any reason to reject the invitation, there was no pressing duties for the Saracen to be doing. Still… he reached over and opened the comm system to his Operations Officer on the Bridge.

: : : : : : =/\= Lieutenant Gavain, can you please join me in my ready room. =/\= then palmed off the system. The door was unlocked for the Lieutenant to enter when ready. Slightly reluctantly he took his feet off the desk and sat up straight, it didn’t do for the Captain to be lounging around in front of his crew.

: : : : : Gavain got up from his post, making his way over to the captain’s ready room and pressing a clawed finger to the chime. He waited somewhat eagerly, knowing what the summons was probably about.

: : : Almost instantly and the doors slid open to admit the Saracens Chief Operations Officer, and this revealed the Captain sitting up straight, looking busy, behind his desk. “Lieutenant, please come on in and be seated. I received and interesting message a few moments ago that you might be interested in, and I should like your advice before moving ahead with my decision.”

: : Gavain nodded slightly, knowing the contents of the message but briefly pretending that he was unaware. He took a seat, then tilted his head at the human Captain. “What is this message you speak of?” He asked. “I noticed a message that was sent from my world. Am I in trouble?” He asked with a small smile, trying to communicate that his words contained a modicum of humor. It was hard to communicate humor to humans. They had different ways of speaking things like that.

: Dante looked at the lizard man thing for a moment, noticing the lift of his mouth as he asked if he was in trouble. It could have been a smile, or maybe a smirk, or even that animalistic baring of teeth against danger, he couldn’t quite tell. “Oh I doubt it is anything like that” he began, turning the screen around so that Gavain could read the message for himself. “How do you feel about the Saracen attending these celebrations and the crew taking some shore leave on your planet? We have the time available, and after being stuck in the 21st century I am sure the crew would enjoy a little more down time.”

Having only skimmed the message before, Gavain took a closer look at it now, reading each word with increasing interest. Once his perusal of the text was complete, he leaned back and nodded. “It sounds like a grand adventure,” he chuckled. “Not many non-Galdori travel to our planet. It’s not exactly the height of vacation-destinations, although we do have some unique landscape”
“I think that it is a wonderful idea, and I will personally be quite happy to visit my home for the first time in a few years. Shore leave to a planet so far from the core of the Federation isn’t always the easiest task,” the corner of his mouth turned up, but there was a sadness in his eyes.
