: : : : : : : : : : (snip)
: : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : Corinne gazed at Sha and there was a deep look in her electric blue eyes. It was simply gratitude, but it was easy to forget that she was still en emotional being.
: : : : : : : : : : : : : : : :
: : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : Before the hologram could answer, a call came from the Bridge.
: : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : :
: : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : =/\= Bridge to Ensign Triton. Sir, the Captain’s pet lizard has been accidentally beamed down to Earth. =/\=
: : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : :
: : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : “I won’t allow you. Either she comes alone, or no one comes at all,” said Bradley.
: : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : :
: : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : GM
: : : : : : : : : : : : : : : :
: : : : : : : : : : : : : : : DaVinci had been listening carefully to all that was going on. He hated to admit it, but Sarah going in alone was probably their best bet. When Sha offered up her suggestion, he liked that idea even better. She had guts, that was for sure. He was also sure she would make a great Security Chief someday. Most likely sooner than later.
: : : : : : : : : : : : : : :
: : : : : : : : : : : : : : : Being the senior officer on the deck, the CIO made the call. “Sarah, nothing we’ve tried is working. If you think you can get something we can use to put an end to this mess, go for it.”
: : : : : : : : : : : : : : :
: : : : : : : : : : : : : : : Being the Intel officer, DaVinci was pretty sure that if he could get access to the shuttle, he could find the info they need. But, with the AI/Bradley in control, he had about the same chance of getting in there as Sha did.”
: : : : : : : : : : : : : : :
: : : : : : : : : : : : : : : Colter (CIO)
: : : : : : : : : : : : : : :
: : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : Cori turned back to Bradley. The worst that could happen was she’d get stuck the way she had been before, but this time they had warning and would know she wasn’t still there. Or her existence could be wiped out entirely. Which was actually not the worst thing that she felt could happen to her. Also, losing the mobile emitter would suck, but it wasn’t the end of her existence either. The builder of her miracle device was on the ship, so worse came to worse, Jarred could try to make another one.
: : : : : : : : : : : : : : : :
: : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : Looking back at the COS, Corinne smiled. “I appreciate your offer Lieutenant, but it’s clear what the options are here. If something goes wrong, tell Jarred. He’ll know what to do. Also, if it seems like I’m gone, I really might not be. I came back before, I can do it again,” she said, a serene expression coming across her face. “And do me a favour? If something really does go wrong, remind him that I love him.”
: : : : : : : : : : : : : : : :
: : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : Turning to Bradley, Corinne nodded. “Okay, let’s do this. Open the portal and I’ll do the transfer.”
: : : : : : : : : : : : : : : :
: : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : ~Corinne Dalton/SARAH
: : : : : : : : : : : : : :
: : : : : : : : : : : : : : “I’ll see you in cyberspace,” said Bradley as he deactivated his hologram image. In the place of the Saracen’s computer that seemed to be related to subspace communications, SARAH would discover a portal that was basically an encrypted data link keyed to SARAH’s digital signature.
: : : : : : : : : : : : : :
: : : : : : : : : : : : : : GM
: : : : : : : : : : : : :
: : : : : : : : : : : : : Sha didn’t like it, but she was being overruled. They were at a standstill if anything other than the AI’s choice was chosen. She nodded to SARAH and watched her turn to face, whatever it was only she could see. Tapping her comm badge, she answered the call from bridge. =^=Copy, bridge. On my way to transporter room two. Can you get a lock on the little bugger while I get there?=^= She shook her head and looked at Seamus. “I’m gonna have to trust your judgement. I need to see to the Captain’s pet. But I am only a comm call away. And this is certainly priority if it goes sideways.”
: : : : : : : : : : : :
: : : : : : : : : : : : “Right. I’ll cover until you get back then.” Seamus said. He thought this whole business with a pet lizard was odd.
: : : : : : : : : : : :
: : : : : : : : : : : : : She was standing near him now and her voice low enough that no one else nearby would hear. “Keep a line open to me. If this … whoever ‘it’ is… goes sideways even a little, don’t hesitate to lock the bay down and call me back. Understand? Between you and Colter and Sarah, I think you have enough heads to see to this. I’ll be back as soon as I set someone on the stupid lizard, thing…” she shook her head and waited to be sure Seamus knew she wasn’t liking how this was unfolding.
: : : : : : : : : : : : :
: : : : : : : : : : : : : Ensign Sha Triton
: : : : : : : : : : : : : ACoS
: : : : : : : : : : : :
: : : : : : : : : : : : He kept her hushed tone. “If anything goes wrong, I’ll comm you asap. I don’t like either that we’re even sending her in there. But she’s our only way in. It has to be done, god help her.”
: : : : : : : : : : : :
: : : : : : : : : : : : -Lt. Seamus O’Briain, CTO
: : : : : : : : : : :
: : : : : : : : : : : DaVinci didn’t like making that call any more than the others, but something had to be done. Each moment of waiting, drew the Saracen ever closer to getting stuck in this time.
: : : : : : : : : : :
: : : : : : : : : : : Before she disappeared, the CIO called to the ship’s avatar. “SARAH!!!”, he said stepping closer to her. “The moment you don’t feel comfortable or something seems amiss, you’re ordered to break the link, got it? I haven’t even gotten a chance to know you yet, so we don’t need you disappearing again.”
: : : : : : : : : : :
: : : : : : : : : : : Colter (CIO)
: : : : : : : : : :
: : : : : : : : : : It was true: none of these people knew her. they didn’t know the nuances of her personality and her adventurous spirit. They either didn’t know or forgot that she had been a scientist. they didn’t know that she had been an orphan who had been the one survivor of a crash on Ajilon Prime, and then had later survived the attack by the Klingons. That she had lost her adoptive parents who had been scientists and encouraged her natural curiosity. They didn’t know that when the bullet had pierced her body on the holodeck and she realized that the blood on her hands was real, she didn’t feel scared. She still didn’t. Or rather, her fear was different than the kind her physical body had once experienced. Now it was the realization that she was not invincible and yet existed outside of the norm; it was here that she was more free than people could even imagine even as she was contained and restricted by the hull of the ship and the mobile emitter that allowed her to roam outside of the computer circuitry.
: : : : : : : : : :
: : : : : : : : : : Turning to Colter, Cori gazed at him intently and silently for several moments, her brilliant hued eyes awash with emotion. “It’s Corinne, actually. When I’m like this-“she lifted the arm that her emitter was secured to-“I’m Corinne. SARAH exists as pure consciousness in the computer systems and Corinne is the physical manifestation. Minor detail.” She quirked a slight smirk before it shifted into a smile that was almost serene. “It’ll be okay. I’ll be back soon,” she said, hoping that that actually might be true.
: : : : : : : : : :
: : : : : : : : : : Focusing her attention to the virtual portal, she willed herself to enter it, knowing her emitter would be left behind and tried not to worry about that detail. What happened next was anyone’s guess but she was, if nothing else, up for the adventure.
: : : : : : : : : :
: : : : : : : : : : ~Corinne Dalton/SARAH
: : : : : : : : :
: : : : : : : : : As Corinne materialized inside the shuttle in holographic form, she felt more alive than ever. Touching her own hand, she would feel the actual sensation as if she was a real person. Bradley wasn’t joking when he said the physics were different. Beyond the observation of feeling like a real person again, she noticed the interior of the shuttle to be vastly larger on the inside than the outside. Where she was standing was about the size of the Saracen’s bridge… With no clue if there was further rooms or what have you.
: : : : : : : : :
: : : : : : : : “Whoa,” was about all she could say at first as she adjusted to her new surroundings. “Bigger on the inside. Cool.”
: : : : : : : :
: : : : : : : : : “Welcome Ms. Dalton,” said Bradley. He extended his hand in a friendly gesture of greeting. If she actually accepted the handshake, she would feel the real sensation of a warm blooded hand.
: : : : : : : : :
: : : : : : : : Shifting her gaze to Bradley, she smiled. Despite her worries about deception, she had truly been keen to know him better and so when she stepped forward and shook his hands, he could feel she meant it when she said, “Thank you. And you can call me Cori.”
: : : : : : : :
: : : : : : : : : “If you are wondering, the interior of the ship doesn’t use holographic technology… Or at least in the sense you know of.”
: : : : : : : : :
: : : : : : : : : GM
: : : : : : : :
: : : : : : : : “Right, okay,” Corinne said with a slow nod of her head. “I was a scientist before… before, well, this”-she gestured to her body-“so I know a few things and can keep up a bit.” Never mind that at any given time she normally had full access to the ship’s library, which after a time became your own little text book.
: : : : : : : :
: : : : : : : : “How are we being generated then, if it’s not holography as I know it?”
: : : : : : : :
: : : : : : : : ~Corinne Dalton/SARAH
: : : : : : :
: : : : : : : “Isomorphic technology. Not quite like photonic projection, more highly advanced. Outside of the ship can’t perform the same projection, only the interior. While you are still somewhat linked to your own systems outside, it is still limited, contained and monitored, so you are aware.”

: : : : : :
: : : : : : OOC: This thread is for the team Outside the Shuttle.
: : : : : :
: : : : : : IC: Lieutenant Commander Colters Comm Badge came to life just as Corinne de-materialized into the shuttle,
: : : : : :
: : : : : : =/\= This is Captain Knight, what is the situation in the shuttle bay? Are we making progress finding out where the shuttle came from and who we are dealing with? =/\=
: : : : : :
: : : : : : Captain Knight
: : : : : : CO
: : : : :
: : : : : DaVimc took a deep breath and replied. =^=Negative, Captain. The shuttle’s occupant was gone by the time it got to the bay. It’s AI has been programmed to keep us guessing, to say the least. We’ve haven’t been able to get any straight answers. But, sir, the AI, that calls itself Bradley, was willing to let Lt. Dalton enter his system. She was willing to go in. With some reservations about it, I made the call and gave her the okay. That was approximately 10 minutes ago. We haven’t heard anything from her yet.=^=
: : : : :
: : : : : The CIO stepped away from the rest of the crowd and lowered his voice. =^=I didn’t want her going in, Captain, but we wre getting nowhere, pleading, begging, using logic. . . .we were out of options, and, we’re running out of time. I made the call, sir. If something happens to her–it’s on my head.=^=
: : : : :
: : : : : Colter (CIO)
: :
: : The voice of the Captain came back through the comm after a slight pause, and if anything, it sounded confident in the choice that Colter had made. =/\= It was the right call, Commander. If any, well, body, on the ship can get us the information we need, it’s Dalton from what I understand about her, situation. If we don’t succeed it probably won’t matter what happens, we will all be gone like our timeline =/\= Again a slight pause as if the Captain was considering options, he was trying not to sound cold when stating the possible consequences of failure, but everybody knew the potential for disaster when putting on a Starfleet uniform each morning.
: :
: : =/\= We have another situation =/\= The change of topic clear, Dante didn’t think their was much else that could be done unless they got more information about the shuttle, but on the ground they had a chance to move forwards again. =/\= My Lizard seems to have gotten himself accidentally beamed down to Central Park, how, don’t ask. However we have detected what appear to be people that shouldn’t be where they are, and some kind of dampening field is in place to prevent us simply beaming them out, sound familiar? I think we might be close to our targets Commander, we could use you back on the Bridge, and how are you placed medically for another trip to Earth? =/\=
: :
: : Captain Knight
: : CO
:
=^=I’ve been cleared by medical, Captain. 100% back on duty,=^= DaVinci fibbed slightly. Dr. Boja had cleared him for duty, BUT never said anything about NOT going back to Earth. =^=On my way to the bridge.=^=
: Seamus turned to follow their conversation. They were stuck impotently waiting outside the shuttle. Listening now, hearing that the lizard situation was legitimate. To Seamus, it had sounded like the AI trying to distract them. What next?
:
: -Lt Seamus O’Briain, CTO
It had turned into a tense waiting game waiting to hear from Corrine. Even though, he made the call, there was nothing to do but wait until she shared some information with them. Plus, if there was another chance to get his hands on the person that brought them here, he wasn’t going to pass that up.
Colter (CIO)
