If an individual poses a threat, then fine, we deal with them. But we have no idea if everyone that could cross over is hostile. My… glimpses have not been very clear, other than the distinct feeling of something dire, either in the past or now. Without more info, I think we’d be creating an unnecessary hostile situation.”

: Satreya nodded slowly. It was hard for her to see it another way because her entire adult life had been about trying to help people, not hurt them. But she also knew that it was more than that and that it was hard to explain.

This will never be easy for me though, Teller, because there is a very real chance that whomever might be coming is someone who can tell me about where I come from, who might know more about my family. And that’s something I don’t want to just toss away because the situation makes us a bit jumpy.”
