DaVinci entered the shuttle bay before the Volga was brought in. Damage control teams were standing bay and prepared for the worst case scenarion of the Volga’s arrival. . . .

Captain Daniel “DaVinci” Colter

As the tractor beam carefully brought in the battered shuttle, the Volga gently came to rest on the deck of the shuttle bay. The outer hull showed significant damage from weapons fire with multiple scorch marks and several still smoking holes in the skin of the small ship.

The hatch to the shuttle opened to reveal a very haggered looking middle aged man, his dirty blonde hair stuck to his forehead with sweat and grime and his uniform stained with blood. “Captain Colter?” He asked tentatively as he stepped out of the way to allow the medical teams through to tend to the wounded shuttle crew.

Colter stepped forward to help steady the man that had just exited, then moved to the side so the medical and security teams could do their job.

“I’m Colter, and you’re Lt. Chatten? What happened? Who attacked you?”

Ally moved in with her teams to triage those inside.

Scott CMO

Sprawled on the deck in the back of the shuttlecraft lay an unconscious young Ensign. She had an obvious gaping wound in her abdomen and her vital signs were barely registering. Scans would show she had lost a large amount of blood and had significant lacerations to her spleen and liver, causing heavy internal bleeding. A medic was knelt by her side administering a cocktail of drugs to try and stabilise her.

At the comm console, a middle aged man was slumped in his chair, drifting in and out of consciousness. He had sustained a nasty head injury from blunt force trauma. The man had a minor bleed in his brain and steadily rising intercranial pressure from the injury.

The other two occupants of the shuttle were visibly shaken but not showing any immediate signs of injury.

Andrew’s Security detail quickly locked down the deck where the Shuttle had touched down. When the CMO and her team advanced, Hudson & the Security Shift Leader went with them… quickly checking the inside of the shuttle for safety and lack of any explosives.

Although the outer hull of the shuttle had significant damage, the inside remained mostly intact with just two minor hull breaches which had been sealed with force fields and a small plasma fire which had been successfully extinguished.

Having taken a moment to compose himself, Lt Chatten beckoned Hudson over to where he stood with the Captain and opened the bag he had slung over his shoulder. “I think you’ll want to see this…” he said wearily as he dug in the bag and pulled out a beautifully elegant dagger. “We managed to recover this from the scene of a recent attack,” he said as he handed the weapon over and pointed to an area just below the hilt of the dagger. “We believe the attacker may have left something behind,” he added and pointed to a small blood stain near the handle of the weapon.

DaVinci took hold of the dagger and admired the craftsmanship: perfectly weighted and balanced, razor sharp blade that with the right amount of force could mostly likely cleave a man in half with little effort. This item, this dagger, only led credence to his own hypothesis as to who the attackers might be.,

“Lt Chatten, I’m assuming the people responsible for the attacks are the same people that attacked you, What happened to them? Are they still out there?”

Turning to his security chief, the captain said, “AJ, Sickbay is going to be busy for a while. Get this dagger to science. I want to know whose blood that is.”
