Captains Log: supplemental

“Our covert mission into Cardassian space was nothing more than a set-up. The Cardassians knew we were coming and attacked the USS Brave as soon as we exited the Nogura Nebula. Even with assistance from Sub-commander T’Reya and a Romulan cloaking device, they were able to spot us and open fire.”

“The resulting attack disabled many systems on the Brave. Weapons were out, shields were almost depleted, Fortunately, we still had life support and warp drive. The Cardassians leaked false information about their new installation, in hopes that Starfleet would send one of their Brazen-class stealth ships, and the Brave fit that bill. My crew suffered a number of injuries and unfortunately, a few casualties. They didn’t want the Brave destroyed, just disabled so they could access her stealth technology.”

“Luckily, Lt. Cmdr Quiggley was able to keep the engines operating so that we could get back inside the nebula and play a cat-and-mouse game until we could get back to Federation space. As we did, I was grateful to see my ship, the Saracen, under the temporary command of Capt. Ashros Ch’avatrat, waiting for us. With her weapons armed, the Cardassians would’ve been no match for the Saracen, so wisely, they turned tail and ran back home.”

“I would like to record a commendation for Lt. Cmdr. Quiggley and his engineering team for keeping the Brave together long enough to see home space again. Also a commendation for Dr. Scott and her medical team, for saving the lives of many of the injured crew. Both departments performed admirably and went above and beyond in there duties”
