One down, two to go! The thought ran through her head, a certain positivity behind it. Although, the more she thought about that choice of words, the more she realized how similar it was to a certain sport. Geez. Sounds like I’m playing some kind of warped football.

Meandering down the winding halls of the ship, she searched for the sickbay– the dreaded sickbay. At least, for most people, that seemed to be the consensus. She never truly understopd the disdain behind the medical bay, then again, it was probably because those doctors were the only reason she wasn’t dead yet. Emphasis on the yet. Elmira had always been a risk taker, someone who enjoyed a bit of a challenge. And in return, she had her fair share of dilapidating injuries, broken bones and bruised ribs. In fact, she began to think most doctors hated her, for how often they saw her.

Entertaining the thought, she stepped into the sickbay, scanning the main room for any sign of a free doctor, who might have the time to run a quick physical on her.

The medbay was moderately busy today, but there was an air of orderliness and calmness that said this was normal and not a moment of urgent care. Staff moved about, but one head immediately turned, as if knowing O’Shea was there. The newly promoted Lieutenant Commander gazed at the other woman with her own dark eyes and gave an almost imperceptible nod. It was the action of one psi-positive being recognizing another. “Find a free biobed and someone will be with you shortly,” Satreya called out before shifting her attention back to her patient whom she had been querying about some symptoms.

Elmira waved. Scanning the room, she searched for a sign of a free biobed. Even with how busy it seemed to be, she managed go locate one, leisurely making her way over. In no rush, as she understood there were patients far more in need of assistance than she happened to be, she pulled herself onto the bed. Pinching the bridge of her nose, she prayed to nobody in particular that the ache she felt coming on, wouldn’t set it. It was never fun being in new environments, for the young Betazoid, as there were still some complications with her understanding of her capabilities. Humming some random tune to distract herself, she waited for assistance.

It only took a couple minutes for Satreya to finish with her patient and she noted a couple things into the file as she turned over the treatment to one of the nurses. Completely unhurried, the willowy doctor found her way over to O’Shea, easily picking up on the CTO’s state. Satreya’s mind was incredibly complex. Any psi-poistive person who even touched it a little bit understood that not only was there was deep and real power there, but that Boja had impeccable shields that still didn’t fully do the trick. The result? People’s minds leaked through her shields regardless of how hard she tried. It was impossible for her to filer entirely and so after years of trying, she simply had accepted that sometimes she would be prone to reading minds without meaning to and that it would sometimes get her into trouble. Oh well.

But it had been awhile since she had been face to face with another telepath, and that made her both curious and wary. Sometimes it could be a point of bonding, other times they could see the rather unusual extent of her abilities and something to be worried about. Especially given how hard she had to work to control them.

“Hello,” she greeted as she approached Elmira. “I’m Doctor Boja. How bad is the pain?” she said intently in a ‘don’t bother trying to fool me’ sort of tone.
