Controller Vik looked between Gavain and the non-Galdori officers present. “You must be Gavain, of the Ahshuri clan?” she spoke, welcoming. “Please, introduce me to our guests,” she requested.

“Of course, Controller. This is my captain, Dante Knight. A brave man, from what I have seen of him,” Gavain spoke, his tail twitching at the end. In the absence of eyelids, his slender tongue slapped up to moisten first one eye, then the other. He turned to the Chief Medical Officer. “And this is Lt. Satreya Boja. The chief medical officer aboard the Saracen,” he spoke, moving on to the next officer and so on until he had introduced the entirety of those who had chosen to join them.

“Thank you Lieutenant Gavain” Dante spoke, then addressed the controller again. ” As the Lieutenant as said, I am Captain Knight of the U.S.S. Saracen. Thank you for your invitation to your world and your celebrations” he said to the Laleri, “my Crew and I are most honored by the invitation you have extended.”

Controller Vik nodded, tilting her head slightly to the side. “Come, join us in the banquet room,” she spoke, turning. The walking stick tapped the ground as the elderly alien walked away from the group, expecting them all to follow her.

Satreya followed with a smile, happy to be off the ship for awhile and with the expectation that this was going to an excellent learning opportunity for her. Besides, she liked Gavain and was curious to know more about his world and the peoples on it.

They walked through a few hallways, and ended up being joined by a few other Starfleet Captains. Each Captain was accompanied by a few of his officers, including a Galdori in each case. Finally, the whole lot of them stepped into a lavish dining room, with long tables and dishes ready to enjoy. “We thought that starting by filling any empty stomachs would be wise. This is, after all, a celebration,” one of the well-dressed Controllers spoke, gesturing for everyone to find a seat.

Satreya took a seat and wondered if it was too late to ask about non-meat options and whether anything was replicated. But she knew in the face of diplomacy, she’d simply have to put on a smile and not show any discomfort should she put in an awkward position.
