[snip]Rul didn’t wait. He activated his communicator and said “CWC to Rovarran! Activate emergency transport with full biological containment protocols! Transport now!”
Rul, CWC
With that order given someone up above whisked away the away team back up to the Rovarran....
A moment later the team was once more back aboard the Rovarran in transporter room 1 with a forecfield erected around the pad area. The Uhlan that had been first struck was currently flailing about on the floor in agony trying in vein to breathe his tone now quite desperate and his face and skin in places breaking out in large hives. The rest of the team could also feel their skin itchy and noses etc were irritated from some kind of allergic reaction.

It was only through great force of will that Purola wasn’t scratching herself as she continued scanning her patient, although she took the time to holster her weapon.

Scans showed the Ulan was having a serious allergic reaction from an injected toxin likely from the planet. That hyper accelerated the effects of allergies they were all already feeling from just being near its pollen or spores etc nearby. The Ulan’s airways were fully closed, his lungs were in spasm not allowing what little air he had left to process properly and his heart was in a hyper active state of pumping and panic. He would likely die from lack of oxygen very very soon if his air flow at least wasnt somehow restored.....

Rul’s mind shifted. Watching the Ulan struggle to breathe, his brain processed the scene as if it was an Engineering problem. Alright. Lack of oxygen due to obstruction of main supply line. No time to reconfigure the system to compensate, so a bypass is needed. Create positive gas-flow by inserting secondary flow avenue past blockage and push O2 via new line. He knelt down by the Uhlan and reached into his boot and pulled out a very sharp and pointed blade. He flipped it and handed it grip-first to the CMC. “You make the cut. I’ll make the line.” Rul said flatly and opened the back of his tricorder. He removed the base plate and then the small tritanium wireguide from inside. The guide was a smallish and hollow cylinder that kept the internal wiring organized and in place. Rul pulled the six multicolored wires from inside the cylinder and readied to hand the improvised tracheotomy tube to the CMC.

Narva continued to scratch. It was annoying. What was going on around him he didn’t really want to see.

The Ulan was starting to enter final spasm states from lack of oxygen, his brain was shutting down, his life signs getting weaker and weaker by the second, both from lack of air and the toxins of the plant and allergic reactions. If they were going to try this they best make it happen so!

Purola quirked an eyebrow at Rul and gave the blade a dismissive look and raised her laser scalpel to the soldier’s throat and began the incision. Whilst he’d been talking about medical procedures she’d been preparing for the tracheotomy “Top of my medical case is a prepared clean tube” She said to Rul who had been appointed as Nurse “Hand that to me, this isn’t the front, no need for improvisation” She said in a not unkindly voice although there was sill her no-nonsense attitude presentþ
