[snip]It was about 3 days later, their trip and subsequent shifts of change had gone without problems. Nothing had come up noteworthy in their flight path beyond a few rogue cometary debris in their wake that soon faded as they moved on.
Dropping from warp they came within the system and soon were reaching their target planet. On scans it was indeed habitable to Romulan and if anyone cared Reman and similar life forms. The average weather currently over most of the planet seemed to be mostly clear skies with some places showing light rain showers. Average temperature was within comfortable limits for a Romulan planetwide, except for those nearing the north and southern poles where due to large amounts of mountains approaching those areas it dropped sharply to quite chilly levels. Scans also quickly pinpointed to native lifeforms in various clustered units around many of the smaller hill ranges in the northern scattered continent a bit north of the equator lines. Roughly speaking they were picking up about 300 thousand or so life signs, give or take a few thousand either way due to being underground or in pockets of natural interference sources to clearer scans. They were much as described from the earlier survey probes, humanoid, two arms, two legs, two eyes, two ears, and a three nostril nose and a mouth. Their technology was equivalent out of a Stone Age society that barely had mastered collective hunting gathering life styles.

Narva watched the scans coming in. The planet was most certainly able to be colonized. If that was the plan afterwards. “Well Commander, the planet if habitable. There is potential here. How should we proceed?”
Sub Cmdr. Narva
Karek interpreted the scans and relayed them to the bridge crew:
“Planetary inhabitants have stone-age technology, and as such, they should pose no great threat to us from afar – however at close, they might be more dangerous. Arrows, knives, rocks, lances, spears, and similar things might be expected. If we go down planetside, we should be prepared. Protective gear and shields might be necessary. Do we plan on interacting with the natives?”
He was happy that the Romulan empire had no silly and indeed unethical notion of “prime directive” as the Federationists had. All of the empire was the empire’s, and the people should learn to be proud citizens of the empire.

As scans continued to get ran, nothing much else of note really came up. A few interesting tidbits of weather patterns were showing up further to the north end of the planet, and another different weather pattern was likely to form into a sizable storm in the far southwest end of the planet but nothing really otherwise would likely effect them once they went planet side. Most of their intial survey was to the north western end of the one area which while having some signs of the natives was more sparse as it was further north then the rest nearer to the equator. Mineral signs were so far of decent quality, and there was a wealth of natural plant and animal life that probably could be processed to feed the Empire in one form or another.

As more scans came in Narva reviewed them with intrigue. He was always in a curious mood. He wasn’t surprised that there wasn’t many natives near the north. Based on there previous scans, it would be difficult to survive in those conditions. But, the minerals would be tempting to them. “Commander, we’ll need to monitor those storms. It would be wise to take a shuttle down.”
SubCmdr Narva
“Keep an eye on it. For now, we transport down. Bring along personal shielding devices. Disruptor pistols only, authorized only for use in emergencies, we’ve all been through basic knife defense courses.” Rh’vaurek said, standing.
Commander Rh’vaurek Deletham
“Aye, commander,” Karek replied. Soon he’d hurry down to the weapons cabinet and hand out the weapons to the away team.
– Subcenturion Karek
“Understood Commander. Kad’n Rul, Karek you’re with me.” Narva got up from his seat and headed to the lift.
