The two eventually made their way to the guest quarters and found Mrs. Pitch’s cabin. Before ringing the chime, Ric listened for any sound coming from inside.

When he did ring, he added, “Mrs. Pitch? It’s Cmdr O’Shea and Lt. Primage. We just wanted to check n with you to make sure you and your son are getting on okay.”

Xandra smiled and shook her head. “Cool Uncle… maybe. But something tells me, as a Dad it would be an entirely different story,” she looked at him teasing and then back the way they were going.

When he knocked on the door, she bit her lip wondering how warm a welcome they would received. Not thinking, she touched his hand and waited.

Mrs. Pitch came to the door. “Yes?” she asked when she saw the two at the door. She was smiling.

Xandra smiled back. “Mrs Pitch, this is Commander O’Shea and I’m Lieutenant Primage. I was wondering if we could come in and speak to you a moment. Is that all right?” Was better to stat polite and get a little more stern if they had to, than descend on the woman like she was suspected of something nefarious.

“Of course,” Mrs Pitch said, “Please sit down,” and she pointed to the small sitting area in the guest quarters. There was a sound in the direction of the bedroom. “Sorry, my son has just woken up. Please give me a minute to tend to him.” With this she left for the sleeping area,

She returned with the child, wrapped in thin blankets, cradled in her arms. “Yes, what can I do to help?”

IC; Ric did his best to make the woman feel at ease. He looked at the child and smiled. “He’s a cute young man, Mrs. Pitch I have a feeling he’s going to break a lot of little girls hearts as he grows up.”

He let the woman get settled. “Ma’am, I don’t mean to pry, but I’d like to ask you a few questions about the time you were on the Sierra, if that’s altight?”

Naturally, as soon as it looked like they were about to get a rapport there was an interruption.

=^=Attention all hands,=^= Jason’s voice announced over the intercome.. =^=We have just been informed that the wreckage of the USS Hotspur a survey ship currently assigned to map the Gamma Quadrant has recovered by the USS Titan. I ask that all aboard stop whatever you’re doing and stand at attention in honor of the brave men and women who served aboard her. Mrs Pitched frowned at the announcement but the frown was instantly removed when she realised the two officers were looking at her.
