=^=Security this is the CMO. Have a team in Engineering stand by. Crewman Redding and several of us will arrive. He is being controlled by an unknown force. Do not interfere with him unless I order it but be ready to do so quickly.=^=

“Redding if you can hear me and have any control, give us a sign.”

Redding’s eyes, which were fearful but less terrified than before, blinked twice.

Redding arrived at Engineering, taking tentative steps. The crew in Engineering looked at Redding and then at the medical personnel behind him. One of the called out, “Redding, I thought you were at sickbay,” and made a move towards Redding.

GM

“Do not approach him Petty Officer,” Nurse T’fanni warned him in a voice that was probably too flat and soft to attract notice.

Nurse T’fanni, NPC

“Redding blink your eyes twice for yes and once for no. Do you know why you were brought here?” Doolittle asked.

Doolittle

There was one blink and Redding moved towards one of the engineering stations.

T’Fanni glanced at the counselor and the doctor to see if they were going to make any move to stop him. Discovering just what the intelligence that was controlling Redding wanted him to do could be illuminating but if that discovery put the ship in danger it could be very costly.

OOC: I’m assuming that Trevor followed Redding rather than remaining in sickbay with Mirri to keep an eye on the other patients.

Nurse T’Fanni, an NPC who is a passive resource for the PCs

Redding brought the ship’s energy controls to the display. He then began to lower the energy allocations to the crew quarters on Decks 10 and 11 by 1%. Then he proceeded to increase the energy levels allocated to the guest quarters in question by 48%.

“Take him away from the controls.” Doolittle told the security officers who quickly moved to the sides of Redding and pulled him back and maintained control of his arms.

Doolittle was not a security officer nor an engineer but he did not want to be responsible for unsafe actions by Redding.

“Counselor, T’fanni..do you know why he did that?” Doolittle asked hoping someone like Michaels would take over. After all Darn it he was a Dr, not an environmental engineer.

Doolittle

“It would seem that the entity controlling Crewman Redding wishes to siphon energy for its own purposes but the reason is unclear,” the green blooded nurse replied. “We can only speculate, but based on what has happened so far I would suppose that an increase in power to the guest quarters would accelerate the growth of the contagion.”

Nurse T’fanni, NPC, who sees everything through a medical filter

“So if we cut power to the guest quarters, would that decrease the growth?” Michaels speculated. The Counselor was now curious to know the status of their visitors in the guest quarters but assumed Harn would be sending someone down to investigate.

CNS

“If my supposition is correct,” Nurse T’fanni shrugged.

“Engineer reduce power to the quarters in reverse fashion of what Redding did. Swap his changes.” Doolittle ordered.

The Engineer looked uncertain to follow the order.

“On my authority as CMO in a medical emergency.” Doolittle clarified.

The engineer followed the instruction.

“Michaels monitor the ships sensors in those areas and lets see what happens.” Doolitte siad.

=^=Attention all hands,=^= Jason’s voice announced over the intercome.. =^=We have just been informed that the wreckage of the USS Hotspur a survey ship currently assigned to map the Gamma Quadrant has recovered by the USS Titan. I ask that all aboard stop whatever you’re doing and stand at attention in honor of the brave men and women who served aboard her. A moment of silence, please!=^= There was a brief pause before the commander’s voice spoke again. =^=For the next thirty seconds, let us remember the officers and crew of the Hotspur.=^=

Redding did not struggle with his captors. When the announcement was made, the engineer who was about to reverse Redding’s manipulations turned and looked at Doolittle and shrugged. He was going to obey the aCO’s orders.
