“Doctor Pongo Bubbles, I am Doctor Tauren, reporting for duty this stardate by order of Starfleet Command,” he stated, his body position at a parade rest, and his face tilted only slightly downward so that his eyes could focus directly on the person he was addressing.

Pongo looked up when addressed, he had read he was getting a new member of his staff soon. This must be the Doctor he had been expecting. Tuan were rare in starfleet, being as Doctor Bubbles was the only one at the moment. Pomgo’s upper and lower cream grey and tan lips rolledcback in a smile as he took in the doctor. Where as the vulcan people were emotionally controlled and stoic, it was obvious Doctor Bubbles wore his openly. The slight of height, and slightly pudgy doctor with red gold furr, turned and walked towards his newest team member.

“Welcome, Welcome Doctor Tauren, Have a seat” Pongo said with a voice that rumbled deeply despite his size, waving him back towards the CMO’s office.

For a moment, Tauren was slightly confused, as he pondered the conflicting instructions to follow his commanding officer, and to sit down. ‘He must have meant for me to follow him to his office, then to sit,’ he decided, and made his way inside. He knew it would do little to no good to refuse the invitation to sit down, in his experience such refusal was usually misinterpreted as rudeness or insubordination, and the imposition really was quite minimal all things considered.

He sat down in the offered chair, then gave a nod. “If I might inquire, should I address you as Dr. Pongo, or Dr. Bubbles, or is the division of the name itself considered culturally inappropriate?”
