Posted by Lieutenant Commander Pongo Bubbles (Chief Medical Officer) in CMO security Check in Posted by… suppressed (3) by the Post Ghost! 👻 “Pull,” Kate yelled and instantly her command was met by a clay target being launched. She kept her gaze firmly on the target. This was far harder than a normal shooting qualification. There was wind, sun in your eyes, distractions and the targets were moving. Rarely did anyone but security need to understand how to lead your shot however in real life no one ever stood still and said shoot me in a gun battle. She did not expect perfection nor for Pongo to even hit a target. All Kate was looking for was the ability to get close to the target. Anything else he hit was gravy. : : Lt. (j.g.) Kate O’Neill CoS Pongo’s ears twitched a bit, though they were hard to see, so most would not have noticed. It was not her command of pull he had been listening for, but the sound of the machine ratcheting forward to launch the clay disc. Pongo was not an expert Marksman, but he was decent, and he liked to hunt. This was like taking fowl on the wing. The rifle settled into his shoulder, his breathing was steady, and his short bowed legs turned out slightly to give him stability. AS the clay disc flew above the head of the crowd Pongo tracked it, then skipped ahead of it to lead it. To be safe, Pongo squeezed off three quick shots instead of one long shot. Trusting in his eyes and reflexes to walk it on to target. His first round was off by a margin, the second hit the disc, so would have the third if it had still been there to hit. Pongo grinned happily having done well, at least in his mind. He was a doctor, he was not a Marine, or Security he was not supposed to hit with every shot. Besides it was a thing not a being he was shooting. That would have been harder even holographic as unless he was defending his own life, or a patients, Pongo hard a time conceptualizing himself doing violence unto another. The idea was absurd to him. He was little, and trusted in the security officers to protect him. The golden furred potbellied alien looked at the Security Chief for a second, once it dawned on him, that it might not have been his turn. He shrugged and gave her an enthusiastic grin that rolled his upper grey and cream lip back. “Sorry was it my Turn?” Lieutenant Commander Pongo Bubbles MD, Chief Medical Officer

“Yes it was your turn and you are a pretty good shot,” Kate nodded happy. She would not admit it but sometimes the thought of a scientist or a doctor was scarier than that of an enemy. Knowing that Pongo could not only hit the broad side of a barn but pretty close to a bullseye made him Kate’s top pick for the medic on her team.

“Now would you like to go for double jeopardy where the scores can really change,” Kate asked hoping Pongo would catch one of her favorite lines from her very favorite non-traditional Christmas movies. =/\= Computer run Blackbeard’s Funtime Cruise=/\= Kate ordered. Instantly the 1950’s beach scene. No longer were there beach bunny clad women. Now there was a large wooden ship in place of the surfers with a large Jolly Roger flapping in the ocean air. The phaser rifle that was in Pongo’s hand was replaced with a sword as six pirates began to run towards them.

Lt. (j.g.) Kate O’Neill CoS

Pongo watched as the rifle became a sword, and he stared at it for a moment, then the people were changing into.....He knew what it was, he saw the flat vid thing about them. They were PIT RATS, PIT RATS of the CARIBOU. Dirty stinking vile Pit Rats. And he had a Sword. Pit Rats were good with swords. Pongo not so much. They were on their ship the Yellow Submarine. And Pongo on the Beach, near a Tropical Jungle. yup Pongo decided it was a good time.

“PIT RATS!” Pongo Exclaimed. He knew this was a holo adventure that did not make him that much more comfortable. Pongo was disinclined to acquiesce to the idea that hurting people, was a copacetic endeavor of anyone’s time beyond defending one’s self, or his patients. Pongo waved the sword at them and edged backwards towards the trees.

Lieutenant Commander Pongo Bubbles, MD, Chief Medical Officer

“Pongo? Pongo,” Kate yelled as she took up a fencing position. In no way was she an expert fencer but this was the holodeck and she purposely programmed the pirates to be less than accurate with their Ginsu blades. “You are going the wrong way…the ship is that way....that way,” Kate yelled fighting off a pirate as the metal clanged. *Okay so if there are pirates, Pongo may not be the best choice for an away team member,” Kate said. =/\=Computer end program,=/\= she said.

“Pongo. Pongo,” Kate yelled now standing on the original white stretch of abandoned sand they entered the program with.
Lt. (j.g.) Kate O’Neill CoS

When the Pit Rats disappeared and it was just sand Pongo looked at Kate. “Did I disappoint? I am not handy with a sword, but I was going to lead them into the trees where I had a little more advantage. I climb well. But I will be honest I do not like to fight, I am a Doctor, not a Soldier. Not anymore anyway” Pongo said with a wry grin. Though he did not like to fight he would have fought if there was need. Swords were not his thing though. “That’s why I have to trust you and your people to do your jobs” Pongo said his lips rolling back in a grin, and somehow he produced the bottle of water from before and took a drink.

Lt Commander Pongo Bubbles, MD, CMO

“Oh…Oh,” Kate said clearly coming up with a new idea. Pongo was right. It was her job to protect him but there had been times that those on away missions panicked. Kate was looking more to see what set Pongo on edge. For her, this was mission accomplished so far. Pongo did not like to fight but would and was not bad with a phaser. Now for part two if he wanted. “Okay, you are a runner, not a fighter. There have been several times we have had to run for our lives and use our wits to save us. So wanna play what I affectionately call run for your life?” Kate actually liked this sim idea because brains more than brawn often saved the day. She could tell Pongo was smart. Part of her wanted to see how much so.

Lt. (j.g.) Kate O’Neill CoS

Pongo grinned, it was all for fun after all, those spoonheads wouldn’t capture him again. There were only Four lights Pongo told himself as he nodded to Kate. He was nervous, The Cardassians had not been a kind overlord after all, and they had chased Pongo’s people through the trees till they had been overthrown. Pongo gave her a thumbs up. “Though I run funny”

Lt Commander Pongo Bubbles, MD, CMO

“I’m scared of heights,” Kate shrugged and then got a smile. “I also love being chased. Okay lame and silly but nothing gets your heart pumping like a relay race or a game of freeze tag. Little more stressful during a real-life event but stress also makes you think less clearly. This is the best way I can simulate a real-world event because sometimes you are in an Alamo. =/\=Computer set program ‘Indy Jones chased by Natives to seaplane’ =/\= Kate requested. Instantly instead of pirates, was a score of tribal natives with blow guns. Kate and Pongo’s clothes were transformed into a white shirt, tan pants, and fedora tailored to fit thier bodies. They also each for a battered brown fedora. “Ready,” Kate said feeling her heart beat a bit faster.
