IC: Loring pulled the datachip from the console and repurposed its screen to hold blueprint data for the new plasma manifolds and Energy Conduit Couplers. “These parrs are the most essential to getting the drive back online. If the EPS conduits can’t deal with the power amount, then we have no reason to the core online.” He tweaked a few equations around the screen. “There Lt., use this equation for you matter/antimatter ratio and injection rates. That should at least get us warp 1.4 by the time the other ship arrives. Nothing can be done for weapons beyond getting torpedo launchers running off auxiliary power. Not until we repair these relays.”

Adira was still mesmerized by the schematics in front of her. She wasn’t as up-to-date on the new tech engineering had been coming up with, but this didn’t look like standard starfleet tech.

The Andorian ensign entered Main Engineering, moving gingerly due to his injured ribs. One antenna still bent at an odd angle, but the other quested back and forth as he made his way toward the CE. His blue eyes fixed on Scott as he approached. “Sorry to bother you, Chief, but I wanted to report back to help if I can. Doc doesn’t like it much, but I can use my hands just fine…”

Tyler nodded “good then get on repairing the relays so we can have weapons back. That’s our major priority”

“Aye…Sir.” The Andorian bit off the syllables, but managed to keep most of the emotion out of his voice as he looked from the CE to the man explaining the systems. He exhaled and was about to turn and start looking into the relays for the weapons systems… However, his thoughts began turning over a little bit he’d overheard as he approached. About the EPS Conduits not being able to handle the power output needed for the new Drive system… several ideas began to take shape in his mind.

She glanced over at the engineering officer that had just entered the are “Before you get started on repairing the relays could you come take a look at these. ” she said pointing to the console in front of her.

After speaking with Zarath she turned and looked at Johnathan “Where did the technology come from it unlike anything I’ve ever seen before?” she asked as she turned back to the information in front of her.

Givens’ words snapped him out of his thoughts and he moved to the console to look at whatever she’d meant to show him. “What am I looking at, Lieutenant?” he asked, his eyes scanning the readout on the console carefully, waiting for her answer.

“the schematics for The Plasma manifolds and energy conduits couplers. I’m no engineer, and even our tech is foreign to me, but this seems to be far more advanced then anything starfleet would be using ” she said as she glanced back down and shook her head.

Th’elin studied the schemata for a long moment. His blue brows wrinkled up in concentration, and his antennae curled back and forth. Then, his eyes widened slightly. “They do look fairly advanced… I’m not sure if some of this logic makes the leap in my mind, but if it works the way the plan says, it may be doable to alter the circuit to handle the powerflow. I’ll try to do some calculations while I repair the relays for the weapon’s systems…” The rest of whatever he was saying drifted into mumbling and engineering terminology that may as well have been greek… What mattered, was that two entirely different ideas for regulating the flow in the EPS conduits had come to him…

Tyler stood at a console inputting the correct algorithm that was given by Loring. She was hoping this worked.

Scott, CE

Loring looked sidelong at Adira and the newcomer, “I would like to think so. They aren’t exactly from this timeline.” He scowled at himself for letting something slip. “We need to get some parts replicated or jury rigged somehow so we get get main power back online properly. Adira, I want you to go with this fellow and find some EPS couplers and find a way to fuse those suckers together. They wont be rated for the proper power flow ratio, but added to the intermix equation I gave the Lt. here should get us warp 1.4 quickly and minimum shields. No guarantee on weapons past a shot or two at minimum power settings.

Adira shot Johnathan a sidewards glace and started to sat something , but quickly shut her mouth. Now was not the time to question him.

The intercom crackled into existence. [O] Engineering this is the bridge. What is your status? How soon can you have warp, shields and weapons online? We have only ten minutes before we surrender or be blown to smithereens.[O]

Lorings snark would be the first thing on return comms. =/\=Have you tried turning it off and back on again? Oh wait, your Chief Engineer tried to arrest me before I could stop this fiasco from happening. Try bribing them with some fruit or something while I save this ship.=/\=

“Adira, might wanna get those couplers going sweetie.” He looked sidelong at her before turning and grabbing Scott by the arm. “You get to come with me and hold the deflector power grid together while I do something to get us out of this pickle long enough to get home.”

[O] Loring? If that’s you then now is seriously not the time for jokes, personal vendettas or the like. You need to swallow your stupid pride and assist not take charge of engineering. Can you assist Engineering or not?[O]

Loring tapped a few more keys and sent an old Earth tone phone signal back through the comms before stepping off.

IC: [O] We have an option. It is a hole in an asteroid. Is there anything that you can give us to not only propel us There but to give us a distraction like a burst of weapons fire to catch them off guard? We have seven minutes left.[O]

[O] I can get you a brief burst from impulse. As far as weapons there’s still several relays fused together. It’ll be longer than expected to fix them. I recommend using the diflector to emit a flare to distract them. I will reroute power to diflector control right now from our secondary systems.[O]

She looked over to ensign Zarath “any idea where the chief keeps the spare parts? ” she asked as she caught up to the engineer.

“Ensign Zarath I need your help with rerouting power from non essential systems to the impulse engine and the deflector dish.”

Scott CE

Loring glared daggers at the Chief Engineer. “Why don’t you let your engineer go with the security officer to work over there on things that might blow up on them if not done correctly? I know these parts, I have studied the design of this ship thoroughly before implementing the ones my team did. So do you want me to help fix this problem or I can step right back out that door. Make no mistake though, the moment I believe Federation tech will be captured in unknown space. I WILL see to it they don’t have it!”

Tyler looked back sharply “First of all. This is still my department. I need you to treat me with more candor and respect. So I don’t think it would be wise to threaten me. I also wanted to be kept apprised of what you’re doing.”

Adira stopped where she stood and turned and addressed the chief engineer “This may be your department, but he is the only one on this bloody ship that knows this new equipment, and I for one don’t wanna see any more of my friends floating across the viewer because you can’t play nice.” She stopped before she could say anything else and continued toward the storage unit in engineering.

She wasn’t one to let her emotions get the best of her while on a mission, but this one was starting to take its toll on her. As she searched for the EPS couplers a single tear began to trace a pattern down her cheek.

Lt. (J.G) Adira Givens, sec/intelligence

The young security officer had a point. “Alright Loring.” She sighed. “Please continue on fixing this issue. I am just asking you to keep me apprised of your progress.”
