OOC: Sounds good! Thank you for the clarification.
IC:
Ajhilaa bade Forster and Ricky farewell before slipping into her quarters and relieving the bag narrowly hinged on her shoulder onto the bed. She took a few moments to unpack her uniform and a few select trinkets she feared might break or become too compressed if she waited until after her check-ins.Satisfied with their placement, Ajhilaa made her way toward Sickbay. She never minded physicals. They were quick, painless, and essential for maintaining up-to-date records on all crew.
So, it was with a relaxed and somewhat placid disposition that she stepped into the sickbay and approached the nurses station, saying to whoever was there:
“Hello, my name is Ajhilaa Ararhiq. Are there any appointments available for an onboarding physical?”
— Ajhilaa sh’Ararhiq, Science Officer
It was Ensign Sutalo whom Ajhilaa met. For him it was nice to see a new recruit who was not yet another human. In Sutalo’s heart, there was this minority solidarity, as if saying while we are different species, from different planets, different lives, we have much in common, not being human. He smiled at the new patient/coworker.
Ajhilaa hadn’t realized the tension wedged between her shoulders until it released when she was close enough to see he wasn’t human. Efrosian, perhaps? His cranial ridges were less pronounced than she expected, but his white hair gave her some confidence in her assessment. (OOC: basing this on your description of him in his biography!)
“Hello, I am Sutalo, head nurse. We don’t really have any free appointments now…” Sutalo looked down on his pad, made some quick motions with his finger, tapped a bit here and there as if a bit restless while on it. “… but I can make it work, if you let me start off with some history and tests, and then the on-call physician will join us shortly in doing the doctory bits. That OK? Otherwise there’s a slot day after tomorrow.”
Sutalo, Ens.
Nurse / Medical Officer
USS Chernov
“I appreciate you making the time, Sutalo.” Ajhilaa noticed the haste in his movements, but made no mention of it. He was a nurse aboard a ship with a crew complement of nearly 500. She could only imagine what his patient load looked like from day to day, especially when it was Sutalo and his nurses providing most of the supportive care. Offering a smile, Ararhiq lifted her hand in a directionless gesture. “Lead the way,” she said in an effort not to delay, “and let me know what information you need.”
