Pawl went back to engineering to start dealing with his assignment. Dealing with the reinforcing the main deflector dish and keeping the ionic turbulence and plasma densities under control or even better try to cut them completely from the equation. Which he knew was a difficult job. Pawl sighed with the overwhelming amounts of data on the subject as he looked over the monitors at his station in engineering.

“Maybe adding a small shield generator to help cut the interference, and maybe a few inline insulators might cut the ionic interference/turbulence. Along with maybe reprogramming the array to filter out the plasma densities or discharges. Maybe considering adding a few lightning rods to help capture and dissipate the plasma bolts of lightning coming from the storms, and try to divert or convert that energy to something more useful. Maybe charging backup batteries and or making a power converter to add power to defensive systems.” Pawl spoke softly to himself as he was going over things in his mind and to himself.

Pawl knew that would mean long hours of crawling through Jeffries tubes and retrofitting some of the connections to make them more functional. “What a headache.” Pawl said, rubbing his temples. He did all he could from main engineering, now he had to deal with hands-on applications and do the work while the deflector dish was in operation. He sighed hard again as he grabbed his toolkit and the parts he needed to attempt to comply with the first officer’s request. He still can’t believe he is a Lieutenant now.

As he headded off to the Main deflector control room on deck 11. He was glad he did not have to go to far for this procedure to start. But dealing with the connection will drag him all over the saucer section more than likely all over the ship to configure all of this properly. He would have to remind himself to go see the doctor after all of his work was done.
