Snip.

Chris looked at the destruction on the view screen. “Mr. Dawson. Good work. Please hail the base to see if Making was killed and if they need any medical assistance. Do not send any of it crew down there, beam them Cargo Bay 2. We’ll set up a emergency ER there. I’ll be there as well in a moment after Grey gets fixed up.” Chris held up his arm in his other arm to quiet Grey’s possible protest. “I’m fine now. I shut down the nerves in that area. I’ll be ok for awhile, long enough to get your nose fixed.”

William had turned sharply towards the Captain to protest but shut his mouth with an audible click “Aye, sir” He stood from the chair and walked past the Captain, placed a hand on the man’s shoulder, the one that still had an arm and whispered “At least stay seated until someone can take a look at you, Chris. I’ll check up on Kastarak in Medical” He squeezed his Captain’s shoulder and walked away.

A message popped up on his PaDD and he smiled. “Good! Chastain will be here in four hours to help us! Now we just have to pay the waiting game and survive that long. Dawson! Fire torpedos at maximum and at will if any weapons power up down there and around us as well here in orbit. There’s no telling what they have. But one thing is for certain. They didn’t have The Chernov!”. He smiled at that!

OOC: Malone is not there.

Captain Chris Taggart CO and Storyteller

Dawson gave a sigh seeing the weapons did their job. It was stressful coordinating that kind of volley. He was glad to hear that help was on the way. He didn’t like the idea of them being trapped out here, even if they still had full use of weapons, their immobility severely limited their tactical options. He kept an eye out for anything that might be hostile from Titan and also was warry of any other anomalous readings surrounding them. Taggart was right, with Section 31, you never knew what they could be dealing with.

Lt. Q Dawson, CWO

William took one look back to the Bridge, he could feel the blood starting to leak again and the pain in his nose was great, greater than he thought a broken nose could hurt. Pain was a rare thing for him only experiencing great pain twice before, this proved to be a middle ground. He’d taken command again without thought and threatened a en entire starbase because of some megalomaniacal xenophobe madman, threatening people who could be innocent of their commanders crimes just to save his own skin. He shook his head and entered the lift and went to the Medical Bay.

CSO, 2O

The captain would now see on his console that Sickbay had four patients. Sickbay did not know yet that Grey would join them.

In the midst of this all, the USS Constitution arrived by impulse. Clearly disturbed by the shooting so close to Earth, the Constitution had been sent to investigate the situation.

“Captain,” said the comms officer, “we’re being hailed by the Constitution”.

Storyteller #2

Chris looked up in surprise. It wasn’t his friend who was on his way. “Ok. Team. I have a friend coming to get us and this is not him. It could be another trap like how Admiral Akbar is famous for saying. Let’s be very observant when talking to them. On screen.”

=/\= This is Captain Chris Taggart of the USS Chernov. Identify yourself! =/\= He sounded harsher than he wanted it to. Bring the only other available doctor since Kastarak was incapacitated was going to be a challenge with one arm in order to help Symar. He hoped these people were friendly so he could get more Doctors to help but they also needed to be away from here in case there are more traps. Whoever is on the screen will see Chris without his eye patch on and am empty eye socket, blood from a couple cuts and gashes and Chris is still holding his severed arm in his good arm. The arm looks natural but it’s cybernetic.

Captain Chris Taggart CO

On the screen, Taggart could see a Tellarite woman in Starfleet uniform.

“I am Captain Kurkk Eldon of the USS Constitution. We noticed fire between Titan and you and came here to assess the situation. Please report. How might we help?”

There was warmth in her voice, though it did not hide her suspicion. It was a strange situation – a Starfleet vessel engaging in an exchange of fire so close to the Federation headquarters. She saw also how injured Taggart looked.

Chris nodded. =/\= Colonel Tom Malone of Section 31 has aisles myself and the Crew of The Chernov on numerous occasions while we were here being retrofited. Upon the last altercation I beat him up and had him put back down at his base, which is on the surface of Titan. Upon leaving Titan he fired you is with some new weapon and disabled us. We have a skeleton crew and have many injured. We need immediate assistance but we need to leave this area first to be safe. They did not find Malones body. I cannot and will not tell you the nature of our mission but we need a tow and medical and engineer assistance. Can you help?=/\=

Chris them typed in a message from his chair to Quentin. “If the show any signs of aggression, light them up like the fourth of July and get all personnel to have a side arm during their boarding. No one is to be trusted right now.”

Captain Chris Taggart CO

Dawson saw the message from Taggart and made sure he had weapons ready to fire when needed. He didn’t target the Constitution directly, not wanting their sensors to detect a lock, but he made sure it wouldn’t take much to do so should any hostile action be detected. He then sent a message to Valharra through the ship’s computer to make sure all of Security was still armed. They all should be after removing the titan personnel, but it didn’t hurt to be prepared. He himself had his KaBar knife and phaser ready at his side.

Lt. Q Dawson, CWO

There was a contemplative pause for what must have felt as way too long for Taggart and company.

“The human supremacist?” Captain Kurkk Eldon said. “That sounds like him. The bastard. There were rumours he was in charge of a base around here. Stand by for tractor beam. We’ll cover you.”

She took another pause, remaining on screen.

“I’ll have my CMO coordinate with yours, unless there are emergencies you want us to deal with right now.”

Dawson let out a breath he didn’t realize he was holding. Fighting a stationary base while so incapacitated was one thing, but if he had to try and fight off a fully equipped Federation starship with no mobility? He didn’t think they’d be able to work their way out of that one. The appearance of the Constitution’s assistance allowed Dawson’s mind to venture to other tasks beyond tactical, such as Kastarak, down in sick bay. He had hit his head pretty badly and Dawson wasn’t able to get medical attention right away cause he was dealing with Malone and commanding the bridge. He was worried about his friend and would be sure to check on him in sick bay as soon as he could.

Lt. Q Dawson, CWO

Chris looked sceptical at the other Captain. He had taken measures to ensure he and the Crew of The Chernov would have the upper hand should anything arise. For now he’ll let them think they were in control. He wondered why Starfleet was aware of Malone acting that way but never did anything to him. Instead they promoted the bastard and gave him a secret base.

Chris wasn’t the only captain who was skeptical. Captain Kurkk Eldon was too. It was a dangerous situation, and she had not been able to determine how truthful Taggart was. That said, Taggart’s reputation preceded him, and she knew that Taggart was an honourable captain who’d do anything for his crew. At the same time, Taggart was also known for bending the rules a bit more than most captains were tolerated to do. But Chernov was clearly damaged, and the ship was in need.

“Thank you Captain. As you can see I’m literally holding my other arm in my other, the First Officer has a very bad head wound, and the CMO is overwhelmed right now. We have a skeleton crew right now and need medical assistance immediately. Please beam over personnel.”

“I’ll send over all staff and resources we can spare. Prepare to receive very shortly.”

“We were at that base down there for a reason that we can’t tell you Captain, but it was for nothing nefarious I assure you. Having said that, we can’t be towed back to any old space port. Can you either help us repair The Chernov here or do you know of a non discrete port we can dock at for repairs that won’t ask too many questions?”

Captain Chris Taggart CO

Captain Kurkk Eldon paused for a second. “No, there are none here that wouldn’t ask too many questions. But we can tow you to the rings of Saturn. The interference from the ring should hide us enough while putting the band aids on the Chernov, making it hopefully fit enough to fly out of the Sol system. We have engineers. And, captain, I’ve had by dealings with Malone too. I understand.” She said the last thing with emphasis.

A comms officer on the Chernov bridge interrupted the conversation, “we have received six medical personnel as well as a bunch of plasma conduits, and repair kits, … “

Chris let out a breath. “Then we can talk freely now Captain. I can sense the emotion and pain in your voice about Malone like Jedi Master. We need more than bandaids. We have to be in tip top shape to survive any encounter that we will surely face in our current mission. Perhaps with your help we can get fixed without too much fuss, but we must be fully intact.” He noticed the message about the medical teams and supplies.

Turning around back to the Captain he bowed. “Thank you for your assistance. I am humbled. Please if you would like, beam over yourself and look around, we can talk privately in my office as well. I will have the crew stand down with phasers minus the security crew until we are safe. But I assure you madam. No harm will come to any of you by our hands.”

Captain Kurkk Eldo was initially visibly suspicious. Why would anyone say that they wouldn’t harm her? That was a red flag for her. But she decided to trust Taggart for now.

“I’ll beam over in an hour with a team of engineers,” she said. “I need to prep them and gather the necessary resources. In the mean, hail us if there is anything we can do.”

Captain Chris Taggart CO

Dawson took the cue from Taggart’s words and stood them down from Red to Yellow Alert. He sent messages to Valharra to have the rest of the crew stand down, but to keep Security up and ready in case any Section 31 surprises greeted them, though he doubted it. With the Constitution in orbit, and the Chernov still with weapons capability, the base would be very foolish to try anything now. He wanted to head to sick bay to check on Kas, but he’d likely need to take the Conn again with the Captain, XO, and Second Officer injured.

“Roger that Captain Eldo. Thank you again and I’ll just go and put myself in order as well.”

Once the hail was terminated Chris looked over at Dawson. “Q. You did a great job. I’m very proud of you. Once we’re back up and running we’ll continue to go look for your sister. For now I need you to take command again until Grey or I come back up. But first are you hurt? Do you need immediate medical attention? If not I’m going down there to give myself a hand so to speak.” He smiled at his joke but cut it off quickly when he felt pain.

Captain Chris Taggart CO

Dawson stood from Tactical and walked over to Taggert at the Captain’s chair. “I’m alright sir. A little jostled, but otherwise fit for duty. I can take the Conn while you, and apparently the rest of the senior officers, get treated in sick bay. I’ll keep you abreast while you’re down there, sir.” Dawson then took a survey of the bridge. Luckily, the damage didn’t seem too severe. A couple consoles burned out from the feedback of the dish, but otherwise, most of the bridge crew seemed to be okay. They had braced with Dawson when the blast hit. It was only the ones not secured, like Taggart and Grey, who had gotten injured.
And Kas Dawson thought, thinking again to his friend and XO down in Sick Bay. He hadn’t heard anything of his condition since he was sent down there, but he looked in bad shape. Dawson didn’t know much of Vulcan anatomy beyond the basic first aid they were taught in training, but Kas hit his head hard and didn’t get up. There was still a small pool of green where Kas had lain waiting for medical.

Lt. Q Dawson, CWO

Chris bowed slightly at the waist. He couldn’t clap the man’s shoulder because his hands were full. “You’re a good man.” With that Chris went to the turbolift.

Captain Chris Taggart CO

Dawson watched him go and then sat in the Captain’s chair. “Do we have status on the relief teams from the Constitution?” He asked the comms officer, “I’ll want to have security meet with Captain Eldo when she arrives and help direct her where she needs to go. What’s the current status of the ship’s damages?”
Dawson wanted to get everything under control before the next commanding officer took over. He assumed it would be Grey since his injuries looked minor. He also wanted to present an appearance of order for Captain Eldo. He may have played the pirate for Malone, but with Eldo, Dawson wanted nothing short of utter professionalism.

Lt. Q Dawson, CWO

(Sorry forgot about this, but will fastforward it now to when Eldon comes…)

Out of the turbolift came Captain Kurkk Eldon and Chernov’s own security officer Ensign Baker.

A whisle sounded, “Captain on the bridge!”, as was tradition. While she was captain, she was not in charge of the Chernov, though she might have to take charge of the Chernov if the incapacity of the CO, XO and 2O continued. It was not an ideal situation.

Dawson stood from the captain’s chair at the whistle and went to meet Captain Eldon as she made her way from the lift. “Welcome aboard, Captain,” Dawson said before giving a nod of dismissal to the ensign, “Thank you ensign.” The ensign returned the nod and headed back out the turbolift.
Turning back to Eldon, Dawson said, “As you can see, we’re in pretty rough shape here. Luckily, the only one who seems to be seriously injured is our XO, Lt. Commander Kastarak. From reports, I gather that our 2O, Commander Grey, shouldn’t be long in Sick Bay. His injuries seem to be mostly superficial. Thank you again for your assistance, Captain. Do let me know if there’s anything I can do to assist in coordinating support for your teams.”
