Lt Valharra put the medal from his first Chief Weapons Officer on the desk in his quarters. It was placed beside a photo of his family. It was given to him shortly after his death and he was promoted to the CWO position, but even a Vulcan has a breaking point and losing his family and then losing his CWO took it’s toll and he broke, several times.
But now, he was back again, and starting to head his way to the current CWO’s office. When he got there, the door chimed to let the CWO know he was there.

Dawson had been distracted. The mission was weighing on him, and he needed to snap himself out of it and get back to business. They’d picked up a new security officer at Pluto, and Dawson had decided to keep him for the mission. Dawson looked over to the hologram of his sister, Clarissa, on his desk. She had just been made a Lieutenant and she was all smiles and nerves. The door chimed and Dawson turned off the projector.

“Enter.” He said. The door slid open and revealed the Lieutenant behind it. “Come on in, take a seat.”

Every wall of the room, save for the one with the window looking out onto the passing stars, was covered with weapon displays. The weapons ranged from early human to more exotic alien varieties. Vulcans, Klingons, Romulans, all were represented, and all bearing a common theme: they were all mele weapons.

“Welcome aboard,” Dawson said pulling up his file, “Mr. Valharra?” He asked, “Is that correct? I’ve gotten better with Vulcan names, but I find it always good to make sure. Do correct me if I make a mistake.” He flashed him a smile. “Has anyone told you your name bears a striking similarity to an old earth afterlife belief?”

“Yes Sir, that is correct, and yes I have heard of it, I believe it’s called Valhalla.” He responded. “It is nice to be back on board, and I am happy to be getting back to work on the ship,Sir.” LT. Valharra continued
