After all, any direction is better than no direction at all.” She could not offer much assistance beyond what she knew of science with their information on the species, but she had no doubt she could help with the technological and perhaps mathematical (engineering) aspects of it. She thought about the fact that the ship had seemingly been the source of the communications. Perhaps the place for you to start is figuring out a way to counter how they are hiding everything from us. They can’t be scanned and they mask their warp signature. She directed her question to the other man, “How exactly did they mask their signature? Did they obscure it by using the force of an object with a greater gravitational force? Did they use the scattering method by using an anomaly of some type to cover up their signature, by replacing it with something stronger? : : : : : : : : : : : After asking, she glanced back at the Captain. “If we knew how they masked their warp signature, there might be some way of determining where that covering may have come from, which could offer a general idea of direction.” Another brief pause, “We could also try looking into the possible mechanisms that could be used to prevent our scans; organic and artificial. That could give some insight of a way to either break through the field or recalibrate scanners to go past it.” She found that such almost sounded like espionage, but she brushed that away.

We can squeeze 1,200 onto the Lancer in a pinch, not that we’ve tried it. Captain Robert, how many can the Ganymede hold? And how long is a day on this planet? I want to know exactly how much time we have.”

Plus, the aliens if they return early to check on things here, will see that we’re attempting to remove the colonists. With only 2 ships, they may feel we’re not taking their threat seriously, but with a few more ships, they will likely think twice about giving us any trouble.”

She would head to her office for the first bit while she waited for the roster of colonists and developed an evacuation plan for them. She would need to coordinate with Security and Medical as well to cover all contingencies during evac.

: : : : After glancing over to assess he most likely was far enough away from Commander Linwood, Mathias replied. =^= Everything is fine I’d say. We’re all becoming experts on the Drakons and I didn’t get shot for suggesting this research equipment was being used to spy on neighboring worlds. Commander Vaughn is there I assume? =^= He sure hoped she was considering he had put her in charge of the ship.

If there was one thing he could always count on, it was her to keep her sense of humor. =^= Well, I’m sure you’ve been replicating cannon balls during the last hour while you’ve been bored to fling at all our enemies, but we could use some additional backup. If we have another ship or two we would be in a better position if we encounter the hostile ship and also that would keep us from needing to exceed evacuation limits in the event we do need to remove everyone from the colony. Contact Fleet Command and see if they have any ships they can spare that are within range. =^=

Mathias shook his head and let out a sigh softly enough that the comm wouldn’t pick it up.
=^= Negative Commander. Let’s not send a boy to do a man’s job. We have 3,700 colonists to transport plus another 50 scientists. We can carry 1,200 and the Ganymede maybe 2,000. We need another starship or two. Contact Fleet Command and see what they can spare. =^=Captain Mathias McGarrett, CO

Epello turned her attention back to the Captain, listening as he spoke with the said Commander. She seemed to be listening for information regarding what was going on. Silently, she glanced over at the other officers, that was, whoever was left, after Chandel had transported out.

=/\=No Sir so I say we replicate some grog and see what we can do about getting those pirates to come on over for a spell,=/\= Jessica said trying to keep the tone light. The worst thing one could do was let the crew see you were getting a bit hot under the collar. =/\=Sir it might not be the best idea but, we could use the shuttles to take some of the colonists directly to the Outpost. Prioritize. Children first followed by the the standard woman then men. This is not the most efficient but we might just get lucky and have enough room on the ship if we need an emergency beam out=/\=.

=^= Let’s evacuate using the ships if we can. If it comes to it we can use shuttles as you suggest, but we’re better off transporting the colonists on faster and better defensed vessels if we have enough. Go ahead and prioritize as you suggest with the evacuation. And Commander, be sure to lower the jolly roger on the Lancer before our pirate hunting Klingon friend arrives. I’d hate for him to get the wrong idea. =^=
