If we have another ship or two we would be in a better position if we encounter the hostile ship and also that would keep us from needing to exceed evacuation limits in the event we do need to remove everyone from the colony. The doors whooshed open as she stepped out and took in the activity on the bridge for a few moments. She liked the energy of the crew as they worked, they were both efficient and calm. : : : : “Reporting as ordered, Commander.”She said as she walked down the small ramp toward the command area. : : : : : : : : Counselor Chandel : : : : : : =^= Negative Commander. Let’s not send a boy to do a man’s job. We have 3,700 colonists to transport plus another 50 scientists. We can carry 1,200 and the Ganymede maybe 2,000. We need another starship or two. He looked up and asked lightheartedly, “Do you want me to start replicating those cannonballs ma’am?” Tabris chuckled a little, as he contemplated replicating one in the ready room but thought better of it for now, perhaps something for later. “I’m getting Starfleet Command on the horn now ma’am, what specifically do you want me to ask them for, a transport or something with perhaps a little more firepower?” : : : : – Tabris Asam, Ops : : Jessica stared at the screen and tapped her index finger on the arm of her seat thinking about her answer. “Have command send three transports and two light cruisers,” she ordered. Asking command for anything was like asking your parents for money. You always went higher so that you could bargain down to what you actually wanted. : : Lt. Commander Jessica Vaughn, XO OOC: I realized I was talking to the CO and not the XO so edited my pronouns to have the correct conversation, sorry about that! I must have mixed up who was on the bridge when I first wrote that. Tabris nodded as he relayed the request to command, who was sure to gawk at the request, but having worked with many groups and peoples in the past, the idea of asking for more and bargaining down seemed to be a universal constant that he had observed across cultures throughout his rather long lifetime. “Ship’s requested ma’am, should I put in for any supplies for the colonists?” – Tabris Asam, Ops
“Yes let’s start with food and medical,” Jessica replied waiting for the answer back from command.

Chandel stood quietly beside the command area with her hands held in front of her, waiting patiently for the Commander to finish her current conversations. Her dark eyes watched everyone around them though and their interactions. This was a good crew, well connected and dedicated to their jobs and positions. She felt she should fit in here very nicely.

It didn’t take long for them to get a response from Command, judging from the beep that Tabris’ console got. The response was from an Admiral Hogan.

Jessica let her eyes drift to Tabris briefly hearing his console beep. They needed more ships. She hoped whoever was on the other end of the line’s only response was tell Lt. Commander Vaughn the ships are on its way. She held her breath slightly waiting to hear the acutal reply.

Admiral Hogan appeared on the screen. He was a man in his mid 50s, with salt and pepper hair. =^=USS Lancer, I understand you’ve asked for back up. We’re able to direct the USS Dallas and the USS San Antonio to your location. They should be there within a few hours from now.=^=-

=^=Captain, Commander King here, I have an unorthodox option.....Captain Khain, Captain of the I.K.S. Khazad’hea, is in the Area hunting Pirates we can request his assistance perhaps?=^= Cut in the SOO from back at the outpost.

=^=Commander, if he can be torn away from pirate hunting and seems in a charitable mood, then yes, we could use the help as we’re short on evacuation space and firepower at the moment. Commander Vaughn, any word from Command yet? =^=

=/\=No Sir so I say we replicate some grog and see what we can do about getting those pirates to come on over for a spell,=/\= Jessica said trying to keep the tone light. The worst thing one could do was let the crew see you were getting a bit hot under the collar. =/\=Sir it might not be the best idea but, we could use the shuttles to take some of the colonists directly to the Outpost. Prioritize. Children first followed by the the standard woman then men. This is not the most efficient but we might just get lucky and have enough room on the ship if we need an emergency beam out=/\=.

=^= Let’s evacuate using the ships if we can. If it comes to it we can use shuttles as you suggest, but we’re better off transporting the colonists on faster and better defensed vessels if we have enough. Go ahead and prioritize as you suggest with the evacuation. And Commander, be sure to lower the jolly roger on the Lancer before our pirate hunting Klingon friend arrives. I’d hate for him to get the wrong idea. =^=
