Solal came to the door of the office, having just barely arrived on the base. He was wanting to get started working as quickly as possible, or at least meeting the crew… he wasn’t exactly sure what work he’d be doing without a ship. Still, he had to get these pesky check ins done, and with one already finished, he hoped this one would go as quickly. Giving the door a quick knock, he awaited an answer, not wanting to be rude, or make a bad first impression.

“Come,” a muffled voice, laced with tones of frustration, came through the door, which opened to show Solal a scene of a man in a lab coat laying on the deck, halfway under his desk.

“Fierfek I’m cursed when it comes to these things,” the muffled voice sounded again. “I swear to everything any species holds holy if my desk on the ship is like this when we get back…”

There was a dull thud, a pinched yelp, a muffled sigh before the desk shook once, slightly.

“Well, that’s as good as it’s going to get, I guess,” the voice said, before the man shifted out from under the desk and stood, a couple of grease stains now marring his cheek and the collar of his coat. He took a moment to appraise the visitor to the office before speaking again.

“How can I help you, Lieutenant?”
