Papilio was in good condition, her heart rate slightly elevated but not so much that couldn’t be easily dismissed as being caused by the stress of finding another NE in the corridors.

Maddington, however, well his heart rate was racing despite the over all appearance of muscle relaxation. He was sweating and after a a few moments of scanning vomited all over Walker’s shoes. Poor kid was really in a bad shape.

“Ah, crap,” Brad muttered, tapping his own commbadge. =/\=Walker to Infirmary, make sure the team responding to the call in Section AA Deck 5 has biohazard response gear, and prepare an isolation room.=/\=

“Computer, erect a bio-containment forcefield around this section. Authorization Walker 9-7-Juliet-Alpha.”

He then reached down to pull Papilio away from Maddington, while training his tricorder on the vomit to see what he could detect there.

After a moment of scanning the vomit, Brad started to fill dizzy himself, as if he were breathing paint or some other solvent. He heard colors, saw music, and smelled tea and crumpets nothing was certain and for a moment he felt as if he were falling upwards until it passed.

‘What the HELL?’ Brad thought as he processed the sensations. ‘That’s worse than the time I tried Orion LSD. This is bad.’

A few breaths later he was fine, but something had changed within him. Something was different. All he knew for sure was he was late for something.

“Damn,” he muttered. “I hate being quarantined.”

Where the hell was the medical team? He was going to have words for the CMO here when he got to the Infirmary.

Shaking his head, he turned his attention to NE Papillio.

“Are you feeling any different, Ensign?” he asked.

Chief of Staff

“Oh yes, quite well, thank you,” Papillio said with a smile though she looked up at walker with distant eyes, as if her mind were somewhere else.

Walker for his part began to feel increasingly late, for a very important date. Perhaps to see the Captain? It didn’t matter he really needed to be off. Didn’t he? What was this meeting about any way. It wasn’t on his calendar after all but he was still late for something.

OOC: Oh God, I’m getting Alice in Wonderland vibes.

IC: Brad tapped his toes, and wiggled his leg, and did every sort of fidget and twitch a human body was capable of.

He wasn’t leaving until the medical crew arrived and cleared him. He could best whatever fast-acting psychotropic bug had entered his system.

Ooc: And just after I post this I see that I am in fact going to Wonderland. Oh well, at least you haven’t made me the cat or Johnny Depp…

-Brandon

OOC: grin I’ll see if any one wants to RP the medical team before the NEs come and relieve you.

GM

OOC: Ta, geoff

-Brandon

Two of the medical staff appeared in the requested biohazard gear and medkits. One was an ensign from the Ogawa and the other a crewman medic from the starbase contingent. “The isolation room is ready. What’s happening?” the ensign asked as they approached.

~Medical NEs

“We’ve all been hit by some sort of weird psychotropic substance,” Brad replied, still twitching. “I’ve got no idea how he,” he said , indicating Maddington, “got it, but he seems to have passed it to her,” here, he indicated Papillio, ” and, unfortunately, me too. “

NE Maddington tried to stumble upwards but then started tugging at the collar of his shirt. “Ensign,” he asked the one from the starbase, “Where are the rose gardens? I think the queen will be very cross if the white ones aren’t painted red.” He cast a glance to Papilio, “Why yes we must get on with it shouldn’t we? I wouldn’t want to lose my head.”

The two NEs looked over to Walker, “Aren’t you late, sir? For a very important date?”

“Hm, yes, I am due for tea soon, I think,” Brad said, and just the thought of a nice cuppa with friends was enough to cut his anxiety nearly in half. “Just as soon as we get you to the Infirmary and start puzzling out just what the Hell you’ve infected is with.”

Lonely in a lonely place. That about summed up how Ever was feeling after an hour of roaming empty hallways on the starbase. Certain her quarters had to be nearby, she continued to move from one long corridor to the next. Rounding yet another corner, she had expected this one to be just as desolate. Stopping short, just narrowly avoiding making contact between the forcefield and the end of her nose, Ever took in a long and sharp breath.

Beyond the forcefield, Ever studied the group of people who had assembled for goddesses only knew why. Perplexed as to what exactly the situation was, she continued to stare. One man was wearing a white lab coat and was performing something humans referred to as the “pee pee” dance. Other medical technicians stood around with equipment looking at two ensigns. One of the ensigns looked like he might have over indulged in Romulan Ale. The female ensign looked as though something didn’t quite smell right. Ever looked back and forth across the group and finally said in a very questioning tone, “is everything alright here?”.

Lt. Commander Ever Zeanar, COP

” Decidedly not!” Brad exclaimed. “I’m late for tea, and this looney is going to inconvenience me!”
