It was smooth sailing and the repairs were done without further trouble.

Mark made his way back to engineering. “Since no one knows what needing an assist is, we will be having shakedown drills when we get out of here.” Every NE cringed or moaned their discontent. Mark stepped up to a console and checked helm console function.
-Lt(j.g.) Mark Pierce, CE
With power back to the command processors, the helm was now functional.
~Mischief Maker
Mark signaled the bridge that the helm was functioning normally.

=^= All hands, this is the Captain. Due to an unforeseen course correction we have found ourselves in a spacial anomaly that we are seeking to rectify. We also seem to have somehow picked up some extra passengers. If you encounter anyone you do not know please notify the bridge immediately. All Duty Personnel report to your stations, civilians report to sickbay. Section and Department heads take stock of your staff and report to the bridge.=^=

COMark sighed. “Woods! You’re in charge until I get back.” An idea hit him and he approached the engineer. “Try to figure out exactly why we can’t generate a warp bubble. Coordinate with M’Nalie to see if you can get one going. I’ll be back ASAP.”
-Lt(j.g.) Mark Pierce, CE
“Aye…” Woods started to say as he crawled out from the tube he was in. Standing up far too fast to acknowledge his responsibility, he smacked his head when he climbed out of and temporarily knocked himself silly and unable to respond to the order much less be useful in anyway.
-bump-
OOC: Just going to bump this again. I’ll have a sim update very soon with reminders of the details that you have learned already and hopefully that can help this portion a bit. If you’re stuck though, message or email me. I’ll see what I can do to help without giving it all away. :) ~Linds
M’Nalie heard her name from where she was tearing apart a replicator to recover it’s dilithium matrix. And set the power regulator into a burn in diagnostics cycle for the next eight hours. Something had gone wrong and she suspected that a power fuctuation had caused the units mini computer to lock into a loop that had essentially caused the replicator to spew hot tomato soup continuously for over 10 minutes before it was taken offline. Setting up the Diagnostic took longer to discribe than to do so she of course just did it logged the time use and went to find Woods who apparently was in charge of her next task. M’Nalie hated the paperwork but did it religiously as she worked to avoid the need to sit still and waste time doing the paperwork later in the day. Her work log was full of such small notations as she loved working and continued doing tasks as long as nobody stopped her for her entire shift and a half that was her usual work day. Her work theory was that if the minor systems were kept sound the larger more robust main systems would continue to function. So she had so far avoided looking at why the ship could not form a warp bubble as the rest of engineering had been working on that and a host of minor subsystems had broken down when the ship got stuck and it was just possible that such a minor breakdown could be causing the failure.
In any case every system diognostic was turning up more faults as repairs to system A brought faults in B, C anD to light. So the big Caitan just quietly took a work station next to woods and started doing detailed diagnostics into every subsystem that interacted with the Warp field initiation process, Then the warp bubble sustaining systems and every power relay, capacitor and power system or subsystem even remotely involved in the process. She wanted to be sure it wasn’t a mechanical or electronic failure before she even tried looking at theoretical subspace phenomenon as a possible cause. But one thing did strike her as odd, ” Mr. Woods sir. I understand that chronaton particalsare part of the cosmic sinkhole we are stuck in. such partical generally form during temporal events and decay quickly. MIght this not indicate if they are maintaining a constant level thatcwexare within a temporal anomolous area such as a stasis field? If that is the case I read that Anoletic radiation will cause chronoton particles to collapse faster perhaps causing the root cause of the phenominon to pop like a balloon.”, and she wrinkled her nose at the idea as such speculation was more forcscientists than engineers.Ensign M’Nalie Eshenti. Engineer.

OOC: Please don’t tag people in the title. Anytime you alter the title of a thread it breaks the ‘Next in Location’ feature and makes it harder for people to keep track of all the threads. This is particularly important in a sim like mine where there are 12 threads of action. If the scene changes location and you’re reflecting that, it’s okay, but try not to do it unnecessarily. If you need to nudge a player about a thread, it’s usually best to send a message through their contact form or
M’Nalie stopped working long enough to sigh, she checked the rechecked Sciences report on the anomaly, where had she gotten the idea there were chronitons? Where had she come up with a possible solution if there had been chronitons. She had no illusions about what she was and wasn’t, and what she wasn’t was the best and brightest mind in Starfleet. If things needed doing she did them. Fast, simple, cleanly, and properly and almost instinctually. She understood machinery, electronics circuits. Could tell if something needed tuning realinging or replacing at a glance, or smell. She fixed failing systems before anyone else noticed they were failing. But theoretical engineering had nearly caused her to be dismissed from the academy. She had retaken and failed the required theory classes 6 times it was her sheer stubbornness that had finally gotten her a barily passing grade in the end. It had frustrated her because she was the Daughter of a Matriarch. Proud and supposed to be infailable. She had faced her own arrogant pride and had broken on the shoal. She knew that if she had failed again she would of quit. Which was why when she had bared her soul about her inability to help her clan she had gotten so angry at herself that she had confused the councilor. She had in fact after storming away from that meeting that she had entered engineering and just started working. Thatcwas 3xdays ago and she was tired and had no reserves left. 80 hours of steady work at a frantic pace was weighing on her heavily now anud she was done. The paperwork was likelyvto catch up soon anyways. Only the priority need to repair the ship had kept it off the CE’s desk so far. So she completed her shift report, stupid paperwork, and headed to her quarter to collapse asleep. Her last though on how when shexwoke she likely would not be allowed to work.
Ensign M’Nalie Eshenti. Engineer.
The stars having faded from the round engineer’s eyes, Woods stood up and wanders over towards Eshenti, blinking as he went. “Pol…” he looked across the room, “No she isn’t here.. I need some water… Anyway Ensign, what’s going on?” He shook his head again to clear his thoughts, “Something about a warp bubble?”
Lt. Woods
NE lipscotte saw Woods smack his head stumble about and then wander aimlessly. So she dialed up a glass of water and offered Woods a seat. “I hit my head like that all the time. When someone calls for you whem your in a confined space looking up is normal. It’s a wonder we Engineers don’t end up with more head bumps than the Klingons.”, she said offering Woods the cool but not cold water, “You might want to get that checked out. But I suppose as your in command of the deck you can’t really leave. Should I ask sickbay to send a nurse down?”, the totally unremarkable Lipscotte asked with some concern.
NE Lipscotte. Engineer.
The lieutenant grunted something about not being the first or the last time something like this would happen to him today and waved a dismissive hand. “Yes well I am fine. I am sure the nursing staff have better things to deal with than a clumsy man’s mistake.” He grinned a little bit then looked around, “Where is that Caitian Ensign? I thought she was supposed to be dealing with something…”
Lt. Woods
NE Lipscotte looked about and finally shrugged, “Youl’d think someone that big would be easy to keep track off.” She said as she moved in to check Wood’s scalp. “Tsk, a bump and likely some soreness, but I guess you’ll live.” , she said dismissing her earlier concerns. “Guess it’s up to you to solve the problem.” She said as shexreturned to monitoring reactor outputs.
NELipscotte. Engineering.
Woods frowned and narrowed his eyes towards Lipscotte, “Why would she go and do that? There is a problem to be solved is there not? And to be clear I am not entirely sure what that problem is much less what has been attempted to fix it…” He looked to the consul and began pulling up files, “Can you get here back here please, Miss Lipscotte? I don’t like waiting when there are problems to solve.”
