Ana’s eyes blinked open, feeling unexpected resistance against her eyelashes and an unexplained darkness even once they were opened. It took a few more moments of wakefulness before she realized that she had fallen asleep on her desk, using the combination of her crossed arms and a PaDD as a pillow. Well, as she slowly picked her head up, it seemed as though the PaDD had become more of a facial attachment than a pillow, as it took a few moments to disconnect from her cheek and drop down onto the desk below. Balling her hands into fists, she rubbed her eyes and yawned deeply, feeling the muscles in her back spasm as she tried to right herself. She hadn’t realized how exhausting it would be, physically and mentally, to be stationed on the Ogawa. Well, she had realized in a way, when she had actively tried to avoid any ship-based duty until now…

Looking down at the PaDD that had almost certainly left an imprint of its structure on her cheek, she tried to recall what she had been doing before she drifted off. Oh, that’s right… she had been reviewing the notes left by a previous psychiatrist. One of them had been to follow up with a civilian, a Melaia Reez. Sighing, she leaned all of the way back in her chair until her head tilted slightly over the top of it and tapped her comm badge:

=/\= Darren to Melaia Reez. Ma’am, I’m one of the psychiatrists on the Ogawa and I’m following up on a note left by my predecessor. Would you have a few moments to meet with me? =/\=

Lt Darren, Psychiatrist

There was a moment before a melodic voice replied. =/\=Uhh, yes, but give me an hour? I’ll be free then for awhile if that works for you?=/\=

As the comm channel closed, Ana put her head back down on her arms and enjoyed the quiet solace that it provided. Within a few moments, she had drifted back off to sleep again.
