Anastasia carefully made her way to the Psychiatry Suite on her first posting, the USS Ogawa. As she wandered the corridors to get there, she took the time to take in her surroundings, admiring the ship with a childlike wonder. While she was trepidatious to begin her first clinical duty assignment, she certainly could still appreciate the marvels that shipboard life would bring. She brushed her hand against the edging of a console on the wall with a smile and then entered the suite, looking for the Chief of Psychiatry so that she could report for duty.

In the suite sitting in the waiting area a skeletal tall figure in a black as night hooded robe and weirdly a short sleeved team medical tunic over it sat reading an old fashioned magazine, the magazine seemed to be about knitting patterns. It clutched the paper in two boney hands and blinked up at Anastasia and grinned. His face unable to really do much else, being a skull. Two sapphire pin pricks of light seemed to shine from deep inside the black sockets.

GOOD DAY, ARE YOU NEW ON BOARD. he said politely his voice as always like two tomb stones rubbing together and somehow bypassing the listeners ears to appear inside their heads. His mouth hadn’t moved but he gestured his head in a way that seemed to indicate talking.

Anastasia must have jumped an entire foot as the voice came out of seemingly nowhere to speak to her.

“Hello…” she said, shakily. “Y-es, I’m new here.”
