(snip)

Encouraged, Sam sank into the kiss and into the wonderfulness that was Navale. There was as much ease between them as there was chemistry. Nothing felt forced or difficult. It had been a very long time since he had felt this way about anyone and so he let her know through his lips and hands, the way their bodies were pressed together as if any space between them was too much space at all.

After a time (who even wanted to count right now), he pulled back just enough to rest his forehead against hers. He wanted to say something, but words alluded him.

Navale’s forehead rested against his for just a moment before she lowered her head to his shoulder, face tucked into his neck. He could feel the soft rapid puffs of her breath. Her arms stayed around him, staying close, not willing to let any space between them. She was too surprised and content with the evening to worry about words.

The breeze caressed them as they stood entwined. She had made no move away and he wasn’t inclined either. Instead, he swayed ever so gently a few times before he started humming. It wasn’t necessarily a recognizable song (his was a rather eclectic taste), but there was a rhythm present that one could dance to. If you could even call this dancing.

Navale laughed softly, more a puff of breath against his neck. It was a delighted sound. She swayed slowly with him as he hummed. Her arms drew closer round him as they moved. After awhile she lifted her head and looked at him before closing the short distance and kissing him again.

It was silly, wasn’t it? And yet this moment felt like the purest joy he’d ever felt. Was that even a thing or had he just crafted it in his mind to make this all make som sort of sense. But Sam tossed it all to the side as Navale gave him that singularly momentous look and kissed him. He revelled in her lips, their tongues dancing. His hands held her close and she just. wasn’t. close. enough.

Pulling back just enough to whisper, his thudding heart threatened to drown out his words. “Thee’s no pressure and if say no, we can just,… do whatever. But I really don’t want this night to end now, and I think if we keep going we’re in danger of public indecency and possibly getting caught and that’s not how I think either of us wants our night to end.”

~Sam, Host of Florence’s

Navale chased after his lips, letting the kiss continue for a moment longer. Her body shuddered against him with the force of her breath. “Yes, I say yes, Sam,” she kissed him again. She didn’t want it to end, and the flower could wait for forever.
