=^= McCandless to Dalton. I’m on my way with a stretcher, I’ll be there in 5 minutes.=^= Came the reply from John. He exited Sickbay and hurried over to the turbolift section. Johnson and Stevenson came running behind him.Approximately 5 minutes later John arrived at the entrance of the Turbolift. Johnson and Stevenson hurried over to the Achilleas and lay the stretcher next to him.
“Wait a moment, we need to make sure he’s safe to move. Let me do a quick scan.” He stated and they nodded. John moved over to Achilleas, lay the medical kit on the floor, took out a medical tricorder and began to do a quick of the spinal cord to rule out any damage.Lt. John McCandless, Head Nurse
OOC: Since we’re moving it to a post sim thread figured I’d go ahead and do it.
The scan showed Achilleas’ spinal cord was fine but there was some inflammation in his brain near the visible wound on the right side of his forehead.
He brought a hand to cover his mouth as a wave of nausea hit him severely.

John looked at the scan results and nodded to himself relieved that there wasn’t anything effecting Ahilleas’ spinal cord. He turned to Johnson and Stevenson.
“He’s okay to be moved. Lets get him on the stretcher and head straight to ICU 2.” John ordered.
“Aye Sir.” They both replied simultaneously, they gave each other a bit of a weirded out look but bent down and prepared to move the CSO onto the stretcher.
“Its going to be okay Petrakos. We’ll take good care of you. We’re going to move you onto the stretcher now and bring you through to the ICU.” John explained bending down.
“Ready?” John asked to the orderlies who nodded.
“On my three we’ll roll him.” Indicating Stevenson. “You place the stretcher.” He said to Johnson.
“1. 2. 3. Roll” He said with a final grunt as John and Stevenson rolled Achilleas. Johnson placed the stretcher underneath.
“Aaaaannnnnnd, down.” John stated. He stood up when Achilleas was on the stretcher.
“Right, lets go.” He stated and Johnson and Stevenson picked up the stretcher and followed John to ICU.Lt. John McCandless, Head Nurse
Seeing that Achilleas was in good hands, Cori let them go, though she found herself not wanting to just leave. So she sat in the reception area and waited.
~Corinne Dalton
Achilleas may have groaned as he got rolled onto the stretcher but otherwise felt a skosh better lying down. If only his head didn’t feel like God was playing the bongo on it.
CSO Petrakos
The orderlies pressed on. They were used to using a stretcher and appeared unaware of the groaning CSO. John set a brisk pace towards Sickbay ushering passers-by out of the way, to make room for the orderlies. What felt like hours passed when they finally reached the entrance to Sickbay. John beckoned to the orderlies to follow him to ICU. He looked around Sickbay as they passed through trying to spot a Doctor, not seeing anyone immediately he continued on to ICU.
Stepping through to the ICU John spotted the first available biobed and gestured to the orderlies.
“We’ll take that one.” He said to them and gathered a couple of nurses to help with the transfer. Looking around at the group John gave the orders to slide the CSO over to the ICU bed on the count of three.
“1, 2, 3. Slide” The CSO quickly and effortlessly moved to the biobed.
“Let’s get his vital signs up on the screen, I want continuous monitoring for now. Someone page a Doctor he needs immediate attention. Possible traumatic brain injury.” The Nurse hurried off and sent out page to any available Doctor to come to the ICU asap.Lt. John McCandless, Head Nurse
The initial vitals would show that his BP and heartrate were elevated though not at risk for stopping, his white blood cell count was slightly high, and he had a very obvious contusion on his forehead.

John looked over the results and then looked around for a spare Doctor but no one was coming. He really didn’t want to have to make medical decisions, those laid with a Doctor. Think John, think. Indecision plagued him. He paused, trying not to panic too much, and took a breath. Treat the obvious injury. He thought to himself and grabbed an auto suture. He used it on the obvious contusion trying to heal that injury at least.
“Someone get a Doctor now!” He called out while he worked.Lt John McCandless, Head Nurse
<Bump>
With Drake busy with the COS, it left Brad to handle the injury to the other department head in their care.
“Let’s get a head scan,” he ordered, keying the order into the biobed. With a possible TBI, seconds counted, and he needed to know if the bump to the head had knocked any blood vessels loose in Petrakos’ head. The way his BP and white count were looking, it was a distinct possibility in Brad’s mind.

There was definitely an internal bleed going on in Achilleas’ right frontal lobe. It was a wonder he was on his feet as long as he had been but perhaps the physical exertion after the head injury worsened it.
