“Best of luck, then, Lieutenant,” Brad said, standing again and offering his hand. “Would you like a tour of the place?”

John took the outstretched hand and shook it firmly.
“Thank you Commander. A tour would be very welcome.” He replied, letting go and waiting for Brad to lead on.

Brad loped out of his office and stopped in the office area, pointing to the door across the lobby from his own, the one you would see if you turned left upon entering the area instead of right.

“That’s your office, if you need a break from the hustle and bustle, a quiet place to work on reports or even catch a nap,” he said. “I’m sure your name will get on it shortly, if it’s not there within a week, put in a ticket with Engineering.”

He then pointed to another door, two down from his own. “That’s the conference room. We don’t use it very often, but it’s there.”

John followed closely behind Brad taking in the surroundings. He looked to his Office, the name not yet changed still showing the previous Head Nurse. He wondered what had happened and why they had left. Moving on to bigger and better things. He thought to himself as he looked around.
“Interesting you have a conference room. Why doesn’t it get used Sir?” He asked curiously, every other place he’d worked used them regularly.

“I hate full staff meetings,” Brad replied. “They’re very rarely actually useful, and more often than not they’re just a giant vent session for a senior doctor to excoriate a junior in front of all his colleagues. If any dressing down needs to be done among my staff, I’ll do it in private.”

John raised an eyebrow at that. He didn’t disagree, he was just surprised at the bluntness of the response.
“I do agree. I have been in many a meeting where the Senior medical staff blatantly berate their juniors, it is unprofessional. Well that’s definitely good to know, I won’t need to assign a member of staff to attend.” John replied walking beside Brad.

“There is a caveat to this,” Brad warned. “If I do call an all-hands meeting, it’s serious, and I will expect all hands, even if that means leaving both Primary and Secondary in the hands of the EMH.”

John nodded.
“Of course. I will make sure we’re all there.” John replied.

After a moment, he continued moving, heading out of the office area into Primary Sickbay proper.

“This is the main ward, it’s where most of our work happens. Intake physicals, post-incident exams and most treatments. On your right is the anti-septic entry, I’m sure you noticed the mandatory decom pause as you entered.”

John looked around, it was bigger than he thought it would be. He didn’t really know what he had expected, probably something smaller. He was impressed. He nodded again.
“Impressive. I had noticed that. Its amazing.” He exclaimed taking it all in.

“Secondary’s on Deck 12, it’s got a similar layout, but about half the capacity. Between the two, we can handle about 2/3rds of the crew at once. That said, if two thirds of the crew is in one or the other Sickbay, we’ve probably got bigger issues,” Brad said.

“Deck 12. Got it.” John replied with a smile.
“If 2/3rds of the crew go down its likely the rest will join them shortly afterwards.” He added with a chuckle. “Lets hope it doesn’t happen.” He added quickly.
